So I take it then, that before this.... food are produced under EU stringent controls...... thousands of Cypriots and others where daily being forced fed rotten food and Food only fit for dogs, I doubt that very Much. And Cyprus wanted to Join the EU for protection from Turkey(dont want to start another slanging match on that front).

Our "sovereignty " is already being reduced in that we cannot have control over our own Judicial system with out the EU interferance, ie we pass laws Criminals take it to the EU then we are over ruled. It is very rare to see the good guys win in The European courts.

Also why for 3 days a month do they(at a cost of millions) have to move lock stock and barrel from Brussels to Strasburg, AHh now let me see , yes I have it just to apease(spelling) the Sodding French.

Viewpoint ...you are as usual talking out of your ass ....cyprus was invited into the E.U like many smalller nations like malta etc ..for buiness reasons ..if you know your E.COMMERCE ..or buiness consultaing cyprus is no1 in SAP solutions and is booming with 24 new companies (employing 15-60)each and expanding .supplying services to NORTH AFRICA ,ARAB NEIGHBOURS AND SOUTHERN EUROPE .Many companies like SAP ...wanted cyprus in so they could place their buinesses here ...and employ highly sklled and bi lingual people to provide these products .
cyprus has a stable econonmy ..low inflation and low unemployment ...hence also accepted into EURO ..
E.U laws exist to protect and serve the people of Europe ...something we did not have here before 2004..now the hard work is to enfoce the laws
countries like great Britain ..have strong Economies and Dyanmice buiness managers ..they dont need to accept the EURO .
Cyprus will be poorer with the EURO ......CYP is a strong currency ...we can buy products cheaper from EUROPE
MY WORRY is that cyprus will not be ready for the cost rounding up and profitering when the EURO comes in .
Most Turkish CYPS ..shudder and think of E.U membership as protection from the TURK MILITARY ...total ignorance ...yes this is a benefit ...but lets be honest it will work both ways ..TCs DONT BELIEVE that you will be left out ..if anything it means we can sit down and be civilised when one day our leaders agree to talk ....ONE DAY

Yes I agree, so then why do you need to be in the EU, because as sure as Eggs are Eggs Germany & France will shit on the smaller countries before long , they will even blackmail you into making sure you vote for them... BE WARNED.

i did not vote to join the E.U ..i was a british citizen but i love cyprus ,my family desend from the ocupied areas and i was not for the membership until i spoke to VISITING GC fianance commitees visiitng the U.K and the advantages laid ...i dont agree with all of the benefits of the E.U ,...especially when i see the cost of land rising to the point where locals cannot afford their own land ,...(see the situation in barcelona in the last 15 years ) but i do see the benefits ,..where companies are coming here to open data centres ...outsourcing centres ...international offices ..the government is encouraging companies to come over and it is working
the E.U benefits our economy by helping us enforce strict standards across the board ....ie ISO standards ...enforcing the banking laws (very lax in cyprus and allowing for more international trade )
the negativity is the meddiling ...I respect France espcially the new president ... i wish we had such a bold confident and focussed president ...he demands respect and will change france ...

Dont get brainwashed by these people, the new president of France is only interested in France not Cyprus, just give him your vote that is all that is required by the Cypriots.

GC s and TCs should never join the EU
CYPRUS was paradaise for long time and look whatsgoingon now.
I live in UK and joining EU destroyed the small busineses and enfilation is higher. Its hard for people now to find job or they have to work for less money. A lot of tax you have to pay . House prices get higher and higher everyday. For what is good EU. Nothing ,only small things which is easier travelling, bringing more lowclass tourists, and whatelse ? Nothing
For GC s maybe hope for their way solition . Thats all.
Cyprus dont need EU . Trust me. EU rippingof people.
As a Turkish Cypriot i beleive if they start direct flights we dont need EU or anything in life. Now its lke a paradise. Everything is cheap , very low tax and non stresfull life.Honestly its like a paradise not to be in EU.
