CYPRUS’S plans to adopt the euro next January risk being derailed after Disy yesterday signalled its support for key legislative proposals was not a given.

What do you think will happen? I don't care much about Euro but i think such changes are not good for our image!!

Both DISY and AKEL are making fools of themselves in this case.

DISY is trying with lame attempts to brake the partnership of AKEL, DIKO and EDEK, and once more they are willing to harm the interests of Cyprus in order to do so.

On the other hand AKEL wants to say "no" to the Euro just to maintain their communist image. I think it is time for them to stop pretending they are communists and get on with it.

I think it will be a shame for Cyprus if we don't go for Euro now after all those announcements! Except from that I really don't care. Cyprus pound has served us well for decades ;)

They need to decide ASAP!
For business like us its a nightmare, it will also cost a lot of money & time for the changeover.

BUT it will save a lot in the longrun --- as we wont have to pay the 'RIP OFF' fee's charged by the banks!!!

Goodbye Pound - Welcome Euro!

Postby Strahd » Fri Mar 16, 2007 10:30 am

It's on!

One of the last remnants of the colonial era is about to fall.

Yesterday evening all the required laws were voted. By July the exchanged rate will fix and freeze! Welcome to the Ευρώ everyone!

Next... the British bases! Let's make them amusement parks!
