Oh No. I am going on 22nd October and was hoping everything would be finished and ready.

Will be extremely disappointed if not. have been keeping a close eye on this forum to see the actual situation as opposed to what the hotel are saying ! :x

Sorry to disappoint you. Maybe they'll manage to finish at least something there, but don't expect too much not to feel too disillusioned on arriving there.
Limassol is a very nice place and I don't think you'll be staying inside the hotel all the time.
If you still can change something about your vacation, take Atlantica Miramare instead of Atlantica Oasis - everything is ready there and its location is more favourable.

For the info of people going to the Oasis soon, I am just back yesterday from Cyprus, and whilst there decided to have a look at the hotel and what they have done to it. First things first, It is now OPEN for guests. What they have done I can only say is first class, the changes are all very well done and you will not recognise the place if you have been before, like me. Yes there is some work still ongoing, the new nightclub, spa and gym have still to be completed, but all are comeing on at a pace and will be fully finished soon. The new bar areas, pool areas, and eating arrangements are top drawer, the sunbeds and other pool furnature etc again look the part and are of a better standard than most tourist hotels.
All in having like I said saw for myself in the past week the changes made. I will be booking this hotel for next year. It is looking great after the refurbishment, and the wait looks like it has been worth it. Hope this puts some of your fears at bay. PS They have kept some of the staff also and for those of you who did leave the hotel the refurbished Nags Head is still going strong. :D

juedood, ben 1e,Redhead and BlueNoseDave, welcome to the forum and so sorry to read of your doubts, however, good luck to you BlueNoseDave, I am sure you have injected a little confidence into the two prospective holidaymakers, I too have heard some glowing reports of the works at 'ATLANTIC OASIS' although I have not actually seen them.

I think I would take your word and rely on your judgement were I in the position of those mentioned, it is nice of you to take the trouble to give them some reassurance and I hope it will allay their fears.

juedood and ben 1e, I hope you have a lovely time in Cyprus, the weather is great and the company greater, Redhead, Best Wishes to you too.

BlueNoseDave. 'Respect' mate.

Thanks also. I now feel at bit more at ease.
Its terrible when you have a holiday booked and are looking forward to it so much. My kids have even been looking at the photos in the book and referring to them when talking about their holiday. I would hate to disappoint them (and me of course) if things were not up speed. At the time of booking , I thought we were safe as it was supposed to be open back at the beginning of July, I suppose you should never take their word for it. At least we have a chance, I feel sorry for all those people who had booked for July or August and had to be moved.

Anyone else's comments upon return home would be appreciated greatly.

Thanks

Glad to have been able to put your fears at ease, as I say there was some work still to be finished in the new lower floor, nightclub, Gym/spa areas, but it should be all done in the next month, and dose not interfear with the pool, bars resturant etc, also you should note that where the old indoor pool was is now an outdoor "Adults only" pool, honest you will have a great time, I have now, via Thomas Cook back here in the UK, booked for next year at the Oasis, it looks the part enjoy your hols, and thanks to you to Eliko. :D

Hi All

Was going to Atlantica Oasis for honeymoon but changed to Paphos due to not being sure that the hotel would be finished on time. All I can say is thank God I did. Hired a car a went to Limassol for the day. Hated the place thought it was a bit tatty up the harbour end and drove the stretch of the sea front. Didnt look an awful lot to do there are all the bars restaurants etc up side streets. Saw the few that were on the main road opposite to harbour end. The place didnt make me feel as though I would like to spend a holiday there. Perhaps you guys on here can tell me different.

Friends of ours were there last week. We went and paid them a visit.....
The reception area, the original bar where the piano was and the entrance looks fabulous!
The rooms sadly, have not been refurbished. Our friends were originally given a room on 5th floor - they spent 2 nights and had to move due to the noisy airconditioning ducts on the roof. They were shown a further 3 rooms, each worse than the last - the reception staff agreed the standard was not very good.
They eventually accepted one of the suites, which are situated above what used to be the Reception area (the lift access is just outside the entrance to what was the Symposium Bar).
They took BB board basis and were very pleased as upon meeting with other repeat visitors to the hotel from past seasons, it appears the food service has gone down somewhat. Very disappointing as this was always a fab hotel, with great service and excellent food for what was a 3* hotel but bordering on 4*
Now, it seems it's trying to be a 4* hotel on the outside but somewhat lacking on the inside. Damn shame....
