That's because they have had some volatility recently. Some bad results and change in management.

Also, the team has not been playing a lot of games together.

What is certain is they can punch well above their weight and can even do Spain over. They are that good and that committed.

Under estimate them at your own peril, but they can beat Greece 5 - 0.

Don't be such an idiot because they do punch above their weight and have embarrassed many great Footballing nations before and even almost won a World Cup U21s I think. They got in the final but lost.

They can beat Spain all right! They can certainly beat Chile and Holland.

Well there’s only 3 days to go so have you placed all your money on Australia to beat Spain, Holland, and Chile and advance to the next round?

With your confidence I don’t know what you’re waiting for…

The problem countries like Australia have is that so many players play in Europe. It's hard to get the squad together for friendlies.

The Australian Team was actually based in London for a while under Terry Venables. That is because there are so many players in the EPL. The English based squad could actually train together once a week.

The assistant coach would then train the so called A League squad and send players over to London for training and so forth. That is the weakness.

However, the quality of the players is truly World Class. If these players form a good tight unit, then yes, they can beat Spain and really surprise a lot of people. And btw, a lot of people would put money on Australia. it's a sound bet for a 100 quid.

 All countries face exactly the same issues… there’s no such thing as one country being more disadvantaged than the others so quit winging!

I don't know any... Like who? :?

You mean a lot of Australians or a lot of people outside of Australia?

Listen to me carefully Paphitis because unlike you I’ve been a football fan all my life… Australia is the bitch of the group that everyone will want to stuff with 4, 5 or more goals just for the fuck of it so expect to see a goal fiesta against Australia especially from Spain who is the European king of football.

All three opponents are very strong and they're gonna stuff Australia very nicely, so now is a good time for you to do a disappearing act!

No not all countries face the same issue. Spain, Italy, England, and Germany for instance do not face that issue. The entire Australian Squad however are all from different teams in half a dozen countries and that makes things very difficult.

There are stars like:

Mathew Ryan - Club Bruge
Ben Halloran - Fortuna Dusseldorf
Tommy Oar - Utrecht
Lozar Bozanic - Luzern
Mile Jedinak - Crystal Palace
James Holland - Austria Wien
Dario Vidosic - Sion
Mathew Leckie - FSV Frankfurt
Tim Cahill - New York Red Bulls
Mitchell Langarek - Borrussia Dortmund

I told you that Football is not your forte and following Football in Cyprus doesn't count because it is a backwater and not fully pro or as developed as it is in Australia. Cyprus can look up to and learn from Australia but alas you guys have no hope in hell.

Now do your family a possible favour and put a hundred quid on the Aussies! Atta boy! :D

Unfortunately for you Paphitis, the world’s bookies don’t give Australia much of a chance… actually make that next to ZERO chance!

Ah yes but you have no clue about gambling.

I said Australia is backable and a sound bet and some of the worlds top Football betting syndicates see the value in placing a long shot bet on the Aussies because it could very well pay off.

I would place a bet on Australia winning the group and a small one for winning the world cup. I would certainly place some money on the Aussies making the QF.

As I said, Football is not your Forte!

Here are a few betting tips you may wish to take advantage of if you want to make some money…

1. Australia not to score across three matches.
2. Australia to exit the first round with zero points.
3. Australia to get stuffed with no more than 20 goals the first round.

That’s the best I can offer you… and I'm being generous! :(
