There's a checkpoint at Pyla which is about a 20minute drive from Salamis. You will have to show your passport, towel and suncream. |

I think it all depends on what one considers as a nice beach. As I am more into natural rather than man made settings, I am not hot on the beaches in the south part of Paphos, which as a rule have waver breakers. There are better ones in the west coast, but one needs to be careful as there may be currents and there are big waves frequently.
If you like check www.natureofcyprus.org for info on Paphos beaches, Ayia Napa beaches, and in fact almost all beaches in the south. You can also search for beaches within X distance from a particular resort/town.
