| So if their culture is not European do you think they will easily agree with other EU members about what is right for laws and all that? Why Russian by the way? |

| Most EU citizens don't want Turkey in EU. This is what polls show. I think this is because they consider Turkey not to be very European. Is Turkey European? |
What is "very European".? Western part of Turkey can be considered "very European". Given the number of people that live in these regions, it could be as much if not more than the total population of Greece.! As far as Western Turkey's Geographical location goes, it is more in Europe than Cyprus.!!
Did you notice the number of countries that are taking part in the European Football Championships....wait for it.....50. I did not know, that there are 50 countries in Europe, and some were even East of Turkey, so I don't know who gets to decide what "very European" is or not. |

But is their culture a European culture? And I don't think EU can accept only Western Turkey and not Eastern. This can happen only after Turkey will brake up |

Mmmm... tell me about it, there are quite e few teams taking part that I'm pretty sure aren't in Europe, like Israel for example...I mean when did Israel join? Or was I asleep when it happened?? |

I believe Turks already have 2 types of passports, one for the well off, who can travel to almost anywhere in the world by being able to obtain visas much easier, and the others who has to wait weeks to get a visa to travel outside Turkey, so same can be arranged by joining the EU.
But Sotos, I have people tell me that, there are parts of Greece, that belongs in the 20th Century, meaning, they are no better than Turkey. I have not traveled to Greece, so feel free to correct me on this. |

no, there are not 2 types of passports...lol...
i completely agree with kikapu on what is european culture, exactly? I would never consider many parts of spain and france very westernised...same applys to England, germany, italy, etc...its just dependant on which parts of the countries you are looking at...i.e. Big cities are very western, but villages are not so...I have been to Crete many occasions and would not consider it very western...does this mean Crete should break off from Greece and be discluded from the EU? Istanbul for example, is very western and much like any other european City...same can be said for Ankara, Izmir, Bursa etc.
As for the russian culture in turkey, much of the Black Sea coast has people of russian origin and the russian cultures are clearly visible in the traditions of people in the region... |

I was given this info by my nephew, who happens to be a Turk from Turkey. He said he was fortunate that he did not have to deal with that problem, because he has a British Passport. |
