Miramare is part of the Atlantica group. Its a nice hotel, set back from the main tourist area, though easily within walking distance. In other words, away from the main road.

Its dusgusting that travel agents have`nt told us untill now...a holiday can be stressful as it is,but even more so with a wedding package on top!
I just wish these people could be more understanding :?

Where are you getting married????

From what i can tell, the miramare is a lovely hotel but seems very basic comparison to the atlantica?? but you can get more info from the following site

www.holidaytruths.co.uk

or

www.holidaytruths.com

Let me know how you get on
another anxious bride to be!

Hi Jo,

I had a look at the links you provided, but can't find the Miramare on there. Have you seen the Miramare then?? I know that from January Atlantica leased it and did it up, apparently. Not sure if this is true. (does anyone know if it has been done up).. I am just wondering if they got this hotel as a fall back.. Which means that you could also be transferred there. I am just worried about it not usually being an all inc. hotel. What will we get??
I am getting married at the Cultural centre, which I have seen and it looks lovely..
This bad bad news has just come like a bolt out of the blue. Luckily for me my bridesmaids Mum looked on here and saw your post regarding the hotel, she was the one who alerted First Choice, I believe that First Choice are updating their system on Tuesday, so if you have booked through them, they will be fully aware on Tuesday!!! :?
But I have paid a fortune, we went over in October to check the hotel out.. I won't get this back. They didn't tell me that the hotel was going to be re-furbished, I may have thought twice about staying there so early in the season had I of known..
How many people do you have staying there???

Hi Emma,
Unfortuantly i havent seen any of the hotels (only in brochures)
as i have never been to cyprus before?

My friend moved out there 2 years ago, she is half greek cypriot....
My partner and i wanted to get married abroad, and so we suggested cyprus as we would get to meet up with my friend, and the flying isnt that long (h2b hates flying!)

Like my friend said, the hotel is gorgeous and the services you gain are exceptional, but it isnt like the atlantica...
The atlantica is in the middle of everything, the pool, food, accomodation is great!

I booked through first choice hypermarket with Libra holidays, and libra are still stating that they are not transfering any of their guests to other hotels as it will be ready by the 10th june

I will be phoning them again in the morning, as i have been doing every week for any updates!

If i hear anymore, i will post on here and let you know

Just so you are aware First Choice have also transferred my guests that are coming over on 6th June for a week. You can tell Libra that when you contact them, I can't see if it won't be ready on 6th that it will be ready on the 10th, but I may be wrong.

I have just read the press releases regarding the refurbishments on atlanticahotels.com.. It was released back in August 2006, that the hotel would not be open until the end of June.........

 I came across this site while checking out the refurbishment to the Atlantica Hotel and am concerned reading the e-mails that the hotel refurbishment has not been completed.

We are getting married in July and due to fly out to the refurbished Atlantica Oasis for our honeymoon on the 25th July. This will be our third visit to this hotel in as many years. We came across this hotel by accident as we had intended to stay in Paphos but the hotel we were going back to could not accomodate the dates we needed. The first impression of the hotel enterance when we arrived was not good but the hotel was clean tidy and above all the staff were excellent, that made the holiday. We returned last October and again had a relaxing holiday, everything we wanted was in easy reach of the hotel although we upgraded the second week to all inclusive as it was such good value for money. While we were there we discovered that the hotel was to have a complete make over and that it was due to close at the end of October and re open in May 2007. There was a letter in the room giving details of the refurbishment, i.e. new smimming pools, new hotel enterence on newly aquired land at the opposite side of the hotel. There was also to be a new out door Taverna and redesign of the main restaurant (I have a copy of this letter that clearly states that the hotel will re-open on the 1st May 2007).

We made the decision to go back for our honeymoon as you can not fault the hotel staff or location and the planned refurbishment would breath some well earned life back in to the hotel taking it up to a 4* hotel from it's 3* rating. We have had no reason to doubt that the work would not be completed by 1st May as it had already started on the outer parimiters of the hotel while we where there. I find it difficult to understand why the tour operators are not able to give a concise update of the refurbishement as our tour operator was well aware of this when we went to book last November.

Tomorrow we will be speaking to the tour operator for some answers as we are not prepared to spend our hard earned money staying at a hotel that is still under going a transformation. We will forward on any information we receive. I will also be e-mailing the hotel to find out where they are up to, Is the hotel refurbishment completed? If not when will it be completed?

Hi R&A...
on the atlantica website it did state it would be ready for 1st may??? now it states at the end of june...
Although i have phoned firstchoice holiday hypermarket who i booked with (libra holidays) they say it will be ready for the 10th june (when we arrive)
i have recieved some photos of the hotel and its a complete building site!!!
I phoned libra directly and they are saying they will not be transfering guests to the sister hotels Atlantica Bay and the Miramare as all building works will be completed
I highly doubt that
So,i am going to be phoning the holiday hypermarket up tomorrow, and if no joy,i will phone libra again...
I wouldnt mind, but i have a wedding package on top of the holiday booking... we get married in a church in Limassol, but if we change hotels ect...the church will be changed aswell,as they allocate different churches to different hotels??????
Yeah, if you do find anything out, then please post...and i shall do the same

Hello Jo,

This must be the last thing you wanted to be having to sort out, being so close to your big day, We feel for you.

We wouldn't want to be moved to the Atlantica Bay, when we first went some three years ago we dropped people off there and then picked them up on the way back to the airport. These people were not impressed with the hotel although it looked a lot smarter. It was too far out and they complained about the food that was the complete oposite to our holiday. We have had two great holiday at the Atlantica and it will be a shame if it all goes wrong this year. We have spoken to lots of people who have gone year after year that must sy something, We haven't heard of anyone who has not enjoyed their holiday there.

We have now e-mailed the hotel asking for confirmation and will keep you posted. Is there any way of posting the pictures you have on this site as it may help get some answers as we feel people are being kept in the dark in the hope the Great British public on holiday will simply accept the situation they are put in.

Hi Richard and Angela,
I phoned firstchoice hypermarket and the man who i spoke to was very helpful,i explained the situation and he was very understanding

He phoned a co-ordinator out in Larnaca who updated him on the building work, who said
` yeah, there is building work on the Atlantica Hotel...BUT... for all guests departing on the 1st of June,it will be ready for them..

He did say,a few weeks ago,it did look like all june and july guests would be transfered, but they are cracking on with it and its nearly done...
PHEW!
He also got in touch with the building contractors!!!

He also phoned Libra Holidays head office,to get some feedback from them and did ask if they`d made alternative arrangements for guests departing if the hotel was`nt going to be ready, and they had..
The Miramare and The Atlantica Bay
But as things are nearly finished, this would`nt be a problem and are still taking bookings for the Atlantica Oasis.

He told me to phone him 2 weeks prior to departure for updates on the hotel,to put my mind at ease...
Hope this helps
