Exactly.. we've got two easy games left so they should give it their best shot... (pun intended)

I wouldn't exactly call Wales easy, they battered us in Cardiff. :(

Further, I think Armenian Cypriot omitted the fact that after those two home games, we have Ireland and Germany away. I think I can guess how many points we will get from those away games. Third place is way beyond us, in my opinion.

Finally, and most importantly, third place equals no qualification anyway!

Hi GetReal. Cyprus has quite a capable team. I am delighted at their success. I hope they better the victories they had last year.

Simon by the time we go to Ireland they will probably be eliminated from the race sice there next two games are at Slovakia and away to Germany. If they lose those two matches they will be experementing with there youth against us. As for the Germany game they will have qualified by then and we will probably be facing there 2nd team. A win at Ireland and a tie in Germany is possible. Wales has lost Giggs and Bellamy is injured. Koumas has two yellow cards and 1 more prior to are match and you have Wales without 3 of there best players. Any how Wales tends to play awful away. I believe we beat them 3-1 in a friendly 2 years ago.

The players of San Marino were all in defense except in the last 5 minutes that they pressed us and tried to equalize. I hope our team will be better in the next games!! :!:

At least your team won! What happened to England last night? and boys, before you answer and start going all technical on me, it was a rhetorical question, I really do not care, it is only football!!

i disagree...we were unlucky in that game, could've easily got a draw but the defence let us down.

as for goal difference, i think it only comes into play after the results between the countries.

Saravakos, are you having a laugh? Wales could have had about 5 or 6 goals in that game. I think we did well to keep it down to 3!

Armenian Cypriot, I admire you optimism. However, I believe it is misplaced. Ireland will get a result against Slovakia in my opinion and still be in with a chance. In any event, away in Dublin, Cyprus has little chance. Our away record is terrible. If they got a draw it would be a fantastic result, I cannot see it though. Furthermore, Cyprus cannot win or even draw in Germany unless they literally play their U19s; sounds harsh but it is true. Germany's second team beat England yesterday at Wembley, so what chance do Cyprus have? Like I said though, third place will not gain qualification anyway, so unless you think Cyprus can reach second (in which case your crazy!) it's almost irrelevant.

My prediction is:

Cyprus 1 - 1 Wales

Cyprus 3 - 1 San Marino

Ireland 4 - 0 Cyprus

Germany 3 - 0 Cyprus

That will leave us with 4 points. Nowhere near enough. But still good progress compared with previous qualification campaigns. Will Cyprus though, being so small, ever qualify for a World Cup or European Championships? Or will we always be confined to the odd upset and no more?

I think our aim should be to get around 15 points and finish 4th near the 3rd. If we do that it will be a big success! I think 13 points with victories at home against San Mariono and Wales are within reach and after that we have to do our best and whatever comes.
