San Marino - Cyprus 0:1

We scored 1 goal and we had one on the bar. We were better but I think our players didn't take the game seriously. The players of San Marino were all in defense except in the last 5 minutes that they pressed us and tried to equalize. I hope our team will be better in the next games!! :!:

 Haven't our idiots been told anything about the importance of goal differences? :?

How come they are idiots when they fail to deliver and heroes when they hold Germany to a draw. They are the same people, aren't they?

They could've scored more towards a better goal difference for later but as per usual they sat in their laurels because they knew Malta would never score a goal! Typical GC attitude... makes me mad!

Our national team really annoys me sometimes. Only play well in the big games...its like they dont care about ever qualifying for a major tournament but only in getting a result in the big matches.

They were playing San Marino and not Malta.

As if goal difference really matters in any event; Cyprus hasn't got any realistic chance of qualifying. Looks like we will just be supporting Greece again at the next Championships, considering that they currently top their Group.

Malta, San Marino, Andorra, Papua New Guinea... when it comes to football they're all the same to me!

Of course it matters... what if you tie in points with the 2nd place team and they've got a better goal difference and go through?

It's also a psychological booster getting plenty of goals in wherever possible. Why do you think the disciplined Germans may be at the top of the table and yet get a 12-0 goal win over a small country when they can easily just pack it in at 2-0?

GR, I said it doesn't matter because Cyprus is not going to get anywhere near that 2nd spot. Hence, for such a tiny island, just be grateful with a win!
