So I shower and force myself to go out the first evening (you can't just go out smelling like an airplane). Go to bed around midnight or so after a few drinks. That fights off the jet lag pretty well for me.

GG, when I fly from the U.S. to CY, I experience the same as Dinos. Since you've expressed your excitement more than once, I'm guessing you will too. I recommend doing as Dinos suggests (I do the same ), so you can get the most from your visit, but certainly don't shorten your stay. You'll regret it. I hope you have a delightful time and that it's all you've anticipated. Kalo taksidi.

Gorilla, my friend,
Have a greate journey and greater stay in Cyprus..

As a passionate traveller I would suggest you to visit the North too, especially Kyrenia..no matter what political situation is..it is not ur business anyway..coz as far as I know U r not going there as UN represantative or CIA agent..

whole island is very nice, bad people - good people u may meet both in south or north..

If I listened the rest world I wld never visit the USA, but I did ,twice ..and I never regretted , otherwise I would never had the chance of meeting so many friendly and fat people, I wld never had the experience of being treated like a garbage in JFK airport , I wld never lose 200 $ in Atlantic City..I would never cry like hell the way I did in Holocaust Museum in Washington.....

Now, remembering all those days gives me a greate feeling of being proud of myself that I always follow my heart instead of others biased suggestions..

good luck girl :)

It is probably out of your way but the PAWS shelter in Paphos would probably be grateful for any help you could give.
