It is quite correct about the Turkish soldiers/servicemen/women.
They are conscripted and have little or no desire to be there, we had a small garrison stationed near us during our holidays in Turkey, their military training was being hired out by their commanders to local hotels doing labouring and menial tasks; this of course was very proffitable to the commanding officers of these units, but to put these young men on front line duties is criminal.
