How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Fight the good fight....

Well that's the problem with fights madam, usually, both sides believe they are fighting the "good fight".....

...... except there is one Court that would disagree with Turkey "fighting the good fight".

Phoneix we don't get along with our political views but that doesn't mean that we have to be be abbusive or hate one another. So as a sign of good faith I would like to welcome you to the Island and wish that you find peace with yourself.

Umit .... thank you I appreciate that. We would probably not be on the forum so much, if there were no disagreements.

Regarding any missing TCs ... surely that is up to Turkey to pursue if there were any unaccounted for, and if it cared.

I believe that we TCs are fighting the "good fight" and that we put up a "good fight" and stopped the Greeks and GCs turning us from TCs to Muslim Greeks
in a Greek island.

I am determined to keep up the "good fight" for the survival of TCs as TCs in Cyprus in an internationally recognised TRNC away from Greek and GC interference in our lives and our future as Turkish Cypriots.

I have no wish to be ruled or controlled by people who hate anything and everything Turkish and are trying to force me to forget my Turkishness?

Best solution in Cyprus is what already has happened, partition. Since the island was partitioned there has been no killings or atrocities, let's keep it that way.

Humansist

Firstly I don't understand why you think I would not want to speak with you again. As long as you don't spill out racist garbage ( which you do not do ) I have absolutely no reason not to want to speak with you.

When it comes to the expression of views I think it is very important we do it in a way where both sides are sincere. I liked your post because I felt that you, felt relaxed after getting all that stuff off your chest. Getting the feeling that you relaxed also got me relaxing to.

Now my turn to get some stuff off my chest. I lived in Melbourne till I was 12 and my mothers best friend was a Greek woman ( from Greece ). I was mates with her grandson Anthony as well, I never had much contact with GC's there weren't many living in the Ascot Vale area. As a kid I knew there were issues between both sides but that never made me hate anyone. Humanist you like using the term "Greek , Turkish speaking Cypriot" a lot of TC's would get offended by you speaking of them in that way, but I know you don't mean any harm in it so it doesn't bother me. The thing is Humanist that a lot of people don't feel just "Cypriot" , I for one don't either. We don't live in the stone age any more ( todays world sometimes seems much more barbaric), "Politic's" plays an integral part in our lives. It's the politics part that fucks everything up, you can't live without it either so there is need for compromise. Becoming "one nation" as I see it is a long way down the line even after any settlement. The thing is that the GC's signed the 60 agreement's and we together formed the "ROC" but the GC's were never happy with it they always saw it as a stepping stone towards a country with a TC minority. This is the way GC's still see us that is the whole point to the problem.

Your last paragraph is not entirely true.

Any hate for Turks has only come about because of recent Turkish history on the island and was not inherent prior to this situation, so you cannot establish a divided island and then claim it is only that way because it is safer for the TCs.
