The trouble is, "Greek" Cypriots aren't Greek

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

The more liberal Cypriots are the most dangerous because they want to make the TCs feel as much a part of Cyprus as the native Cypriots that the only way they see fit is to shout louder that they are no more Greek than the TCs.

This does not serve any useful purpose under the present circumstances when most TCs have betrayed Cyprus from the inside. It makes the liberal native Cypriots (GCs) complicit ....

Now you know why I said that we are protecting the North of Cyprus from ENOSIS Miltiades.........These are the Tpapolites that are running the "RoC".....Long live the Bananiots.....

Two faced Zan!

You were Turkish before Miltiades came back .... now you are "Cypriot" ...

Always have been Turkish Cypriot...You nor Miltiades can take that away from me......

So are you going to tell me that before 1821 there were no Greeks because they did not belong to a Greek state? Or that Rhodians became Greek just when Rhodes became part of the Greek state, even though this island, like Cyprus, has 1000s of years of Greek history?

Ergo...It has NEVER been Greek...Thank you!!!!!!

It has been Greek for 3500 years. Or you are going to tell me that Athens, Sparta and all the other Greek territories and island needed where not Greek during all these 1000s of years and became Greek only when the became part of a Greek state.

Are you also going to tell me that there were no Turks until the establishment of the Turkish state in 1919? Then Turks dropped from the sky!

Depends what you mean by Turks........There certainly was no Turkey so where were these Turks from????

Greek /Hellenic what is the difference?

It's the same meaning in Greek (Hellenic) .... and that's what Cyprus has always been. It's only the English language that has bastardised / confused the meaning ....

Wasn't it you that came out with this memes thing???  Cultures can evolve but ownership of countries can only be taken........At no time was Cyprus owned by Greece but was owned by Turks. Whilst you were busy memesising we were busy running an Empire........Now if you had told me hat those nasty Greeks came and forced us Cypriots to speak Greek and use their wares then I would agree with you....

No one can deny the influence of Hellenism stretching back many centuries , but is it not true that NO ONE can also deny the influence of our brothers and sisters the Turkish Cypriots .
We have much much more in common with the T/Cs than we have with the Greeks from Salonica , Sparta , or any other part of Greece just as the T/Cs have much more in common with their G/C compatriots than they have with the Turks of Anatolia and other parts of Turkey. Cant we see that all of us in Cyprus are equally responsible to our future generations to provide them with a peaceful orderly society where safety , democracy , financial stability and prosperity are the norm , not bloody flag waving and mythological nonsense.Let us be one nation , the nation of Cypriots and let us rid our selves of the restrains imposed upon us by the mental rape suffered by us all.
Once again I will state this . My ambition is to see a T/C President of all Cyprus , a Cypriot whose allegiance will be to Cyprus , whose motto will one for one and all for one , a true Cypriot ! I propose BIRKIBRISLY !

I'M , I WAS , I SHALL ALWAYS BE A CYPRIOT !!

Complete dreamer .... where have you been since 1974?

The bloody Turks have split the island in two

Keep telling everyone how much the TCs and GCs have in common whilst the Turks are laughing and stopping any GCs returning to their homes.

Oh yes we are so alike . . . .

You still have not understood how different our memes are.

Piratis
To corrupt the claim of sociologist Ernest Gellner, 'Greekness is not the awakening of 'Greeks' to national self-consciousness: it invents Greece where it do not exist.' and 'Turkishness is not the awakening of 'Turks' to national self-consciousness: it invents Turkey where it do not exist.' And just so as not to feel left out, again, 'Cypriotness is not the awakening of 'Cypriots' to national self-consciousness: it invents Cyprus where it do not exist.'

GCs and TCs did have a lot in common 40 years ago, when they were neighbours living in small villages. Now they are aliens to each other, they speak different languages, they are taught completely different versions of history and they have completely different ways of life

Th only thing the GCs and TCs had in common was that they were both resients of the same Island and were Human Beings ....

For everything else they were as different as any other two social goups ....

All perfectly normal and acceptable, and that's not to say they could not coexist (even amicably) living side by side ....

However what has transpired, is the vastly different level of power latent in the smaller group which has unjustly taken away the Human Rights of the majority of the Island.
