Britain definitely caused the Cyprus problem

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

What are you ranting about now ?... :?

Out of the frying pan into the fire

You really should just shut up and give us all a rest from witnessing the creaking of your rusty cogs ....

Phoenix sometimes it is better to admit you've gone too far and step back. Don't dig that hole any deeper!

Niki what are you on about? .... if you have not followed the posts with a fine-tooth comb now is not a good time to get your oar in, dear. :D

Where have I gone too far precisely?

Do you have a point?

Or have you just had a bad day and are generally miffed ...in which case fire away! :D I have broad shoulders ( and that is not a reference to my size ... more metaphorical  )

I really fail to see what possible benefit would the Cypriots derive from ejecting the British bases out of Cyprus .If the government of the ROC made an official demand that the bases should be closed and the area handed back to the Cypriot government then the British can do very little but oblige , and yes Piratis , they would oblige , this is the 21st century now and gun boat diplomacy isn't as effective as it once was.
Does any one know the official figure of British tourists visiting Cyprus , I seem to recall some years back a good friend of mine who worked for the ministry of finance in Nicosia telling me that it was 64% , I wonder if someone could find out the correct figure. Could he or she also find out the percentage applicable to our beloved comprades in Irag , Afghanistan , Cuba as well please. !!!

I have followed this very closely. You've gone too far.

You (as I said) made outrageous generalising statements about British people managing to be personally insulting to people on the way and then tried to bulldoze over people who were upset with your comments with a strident attitude.

This has nothing to do with 'broad shoulders' and as you know I haven't retaliated recently but in this you have gone too far!!

Sotos,
I take it from your post that if it ain't in your dictionary definition then what the Klan do, or what the Nazis did, or what blacks in South Africa suffered or Jamaicans in London experience is not racism. The fact that your dictionary definition of idiot doesn't refer to 'Sotos' does not mean that Sotos is not an idiot.

Unless you can point me in the direction of the comments that you think are "too far" I cannot help you. You appear flummoxed.

I think you are under the misguided confusion that abounds the forum where the English and the British are viewed as synonymous.

Not all British people are English. You might be English ... I am not! But I am British. So any criticism of the British is also of myself, and I am as entitled as any other British person to comment ... unless you think otherwise, in which case explain why.

My complaints have been with the British ... I have not mentioned English except to also correct Zan.

Do you understand the difference?

BTW .... you do not seem to have a problem with the title of the thread nor the accusations against the British that the author has made .... why are those comments correct and only my statements "too far"?....

Are you afraid of him because he is Turkish :?

Phoenix,
Not only are you a racist but you feign innocence of being a racist to boot.
Your reaction reminds me of Bernard Manning or Jim Davidson denying they were racists 'cos they had black friends'.

I don't have to 'prove' to your satisfaction that you are a racist, that you make racist remarks, and that you behave in a racist manner. Your statements on these pages are there for all to see and for them to make their own assessments.

For me, I deal with your views and attitudes with the contempt they deserve.

Kick racism out of Cyprus.

You are obsessed with race  ... I guess it's true that everyone is born a racist and they spend their whole lives trying to accuse others to make themselves feel better.

Don' t worry CopperLine what you are suffering from is perfectly normal for a semi-educated modern man. Don't beat yourself too much over it.

You never hear me accuse anyone of something as non-descript as "racist".

You have to understand Genetics to such a level (beyond DNA) to finally accept and believe without a shadow of a doubt, how absurd mentioning people's colour  is in this day and age of cloning etc. Do you realise skin colour is caused by melanin, and nothing more? I can clone the gene for melanin production into plants or bacteria, what then? Apartheid in the flowerbeds?

Get Real CopperLine ....
