to me its a no brainer.

I can see how the dove can scare you as a hellenic symbol. To help you out I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be called to play in either (especially Cyprus)

Yuk! Blue!!!! Would clash with my eyes....

Zan, if you had bothered to look more carefully, the colour on the CFA emblem is not a blue one, but it is in fact the turquoise colour, the same colour the Turkish national team was wearing during the last Euro 2008 cup. So much about your Daltonism problems!!!

At least DT didn't take that comment so seriously

DT, stop it will you, any minute now and they will be DEMANDING that half the Cyprus team players HAVE TO BE Turks as part of the settlement negotiations, irrespective if they are good enough or not. We may just be labelled as racists otherwise.

As long as you can accept the possibility that the team might one day be all TC then I have no problem with it. Besides...I am sure there will be all TC teams playing in the qualifiers anyway......what happens when they qualify and you don't....

If you mean on a club level mate then you never know that may happen. As far as all TC teams and all GC teams on club levels go then thats not a realistic view. Anorthosis got into the Champions League with 2 Cypriots in the team, Apoel has 5 Cypriots starters and Omonoia has 6. If you're to progress in Europe then forget about ethnically clean teams, that can't work.

As for the national team, then may the best players be called. My comment stands though that it will take the TC players a long time to catch up to the standard and experience that the GC players have. This means joining the academies and getting some strong championship experience followed by a few games in EUrope.

Biggest asset the teams have now are their academies and the games they play from a young age in European tournaments. Surpsingly, Paralimni in Famagusta has been churning out the most succesful players for the last 5-10 years. (Konstantinou, Christofi, Yiasemakis etc)

Just running some possibilities through his mind in order to get him out of his insular thinking DT.....It will be people like him that will be giving the TC players a hard time with racist insults and jeering from the stands. Letting the best players play is not good enough either if hey are going to perform like that racist tennis player out there who keeps wiping his nose with his hand. I would ban him just for that.....

Well they better get used to abusive chants. Omonoia vs Apoel is as abusive as it gets. I doubt it would get much worse with a tc team.

No they won't (didn't) Played a freindly with the under 21's. They won 2-1. Anastassiades wanted to try out a few new players.

Players schedule was too full since APOEL is playing Hertha Berlin and Omonoia are playing Manchester City on Tuesday.
