What is good for the goose is good for the gander, but to prove that I am bigger than that - apologies to O's son.

It was springtime in 1985, if I remember right. The Danish contingent of the UN wanted to stage their badminton tournament and asked us at the Cyprus Badminton Federation to find a venue for them. We referred them to KOA, the highest sport authority in Cyprus. Venues were hard to find at the time and even the Federation had to fight with hands and teeth to get some playing time at "Lefkotheo", next to Makarios Stadium.

The late Koukoularides was the General Manager of KOA at the time and he was a mighty man, appointed by DIKO and personal friend and koumparos to Kyprianou, the President. He flatly rejected the request of the Danes. I said to them, do not worry, you will get the hall. I lifted the phone and asked to speak to Koukoularides. I told him that if the Danes do not get the hall on our side they will ask for a hall from Denktash. Koukoularides immediately got the message and saved the day.

He authorised the use of "Lefkotheo" and came along to watch a couple of games!

O and I are best buddies you know - no jealousy on my part! - at least I am not one of her hemorrhoids as some appear to be!

Back to topic ...................................... :)

No thanks, I'm not here to make friends and I'm not interested in varifocals and lunch dates in the 'TRNC'. I'll chat with Denzil in CyProb...

Best buddies or not, you still can't seem to go a post without mentioning Oracle. If it's not her family and personal life then it's her age and interests. If you were a male I'd say maybe you have a crush on her...

 Blackbolt, it appears you are stalking me!

Protest all you like, but judging by your posts. you seem to have an interest in myself and Deniz (O too - maybe that aforementioned crush! ) Why is that?

Now, back to the topic!

Bubbles, just say we know O, for far much longer than he.

For a lady she has more guts than most GC men on the forum and can take care of herself so needs no protector.

We all love each other to bits here. Souvlaki size will do me fine.

Good idea, you can drive them all there when you go to pick up your paycheck from the 'TRNC' authorities.

I have no idea where you think that anyone is making money out of Cyprus Rugby.
All I and others are trying to do is promote the game and highlight the fact that even though you have a National Team which is doing exceedingly well it is with no thanks to support from the Cyprus Government but due to the extreme hard work and generosity of some dedicated people.

From an island which had no idea what Rugby Union was six years ago you now have three independent sides which continue to grow and attract new players as well as taking it out to the youth of the island.

The blinkered view held by many is that because we play against the British bases it must be a sport for the British Expat and why should it receive any help.

The fact is that the majority of the Cyprus team have some Cypriot heritage/ bloodline and many fly from different parts of the world to take part for their Mother country with extreme sense of National pride.

One of the major reasons Cyprus Rugby is flourishing is because we are accepted to the League organised by the British Forces it enables us to get plenty match practice against high level opposition for which we are very thankful.

Amongst the squad selected to play last Saturday in Azerbaijan were two 17 year olds who in 2005/2006 came along as youth to a game they have never played before and have not only proved themselves good at the game but have excelled at it.

How can these schoolboys be expected to pay their own way flying around Europe?

Cyprus Rugby has from the beginning actively sought and won sponsorship from private companies and individuals but the pit is not bottomless.

Rugby is a sport recognised by KOA and as such deserves some support and not to be charged for the use of a Cyprus government controlled stadium to represent Cyprus

Posting two replies to you (now three) is hardly stalking, but if it makes you feel interesting or desired then you can go ahead and tell yourself that.

I can assure you I have absolutely no interest in you, (and certainly not enough to warrant any stalking) though I do enjoy Deniz's style. I just happen to have the unfortunate luck to encounter your moronic drivel every time I venture out of 'CyProb'.

Oracle does not need me or anyone else to interfere, but I find the constant personal comments posted by you and your cronies about her and her family to be distasteful and bordering on bullying.

Now I think I've made you feel special long enough and you're not entertaining so off you go to your 'game' threads.

My post was aimed at Bananiot (that's why it quoted his post). As Banaiot gets paid by the 'TRNC' for other services, I merely suggested that it would be convenient for him to drive the team to and from games in the 'TRNC' (as was his suggestion) when he goes to pick up his paycheck.
