THE CYPRUS national rugby union team is so under funded by the state sports authority that players and team officials have had to buy their own air tickets to play international matches.

The same could be said for other sports such as mobile phone tossing... and yes it does exist!

The problem is lack of popularity so the sooner you guys market it properly and get the results the sooner you'll get your funding.

Common sense really.

Played 6 won 5 what better results can you ask from a team which has only been going two seasons including our memorable destruction of the Greek team in March last year which has been on the international field for five years.

You could've won 100 games out of a 100 but if nobody hears about them they've gone to waste haven’t they? Someone needs to be appointed to promote the sport by directly liaising with radio, TV, newspapers, etc to keep pumping the good news into the community.

A thread title like “Cyprus Government should be ashamed” is counterproductive especially in the Cypriot Rugby’s time of need.

It would be wiser to start a thread called “The national Cypriot Rugby team makes history!” or something positive like that and ask the Admin to make it sticky for you in the sports section where you can post an intro with website details, how it all started, etc, followed by the wins so far etc, and then just keep adding posts as matches get played.

Re-post that in the remaining 4-5 Cyprus forums and bingo… that’s your part done as far as promoting Cypriot Rugby on the Internet is concerned.

Oracle is not your problem but your negative "marketing".
