THE ELECTIONS WILL BE HELD NEXT YEAR

Postby halil » Fri Dec 19, 2008 8:49 pm

Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer has said that 2009 will be an election year in Northern Cyprus.

The Premier said that the elections could be held in 2010 but a date for the election would be set in 2009.

`Because of this, 2009 will be an election year as from the first of January`, he said.

The Premier said he believed that the parliamentary elections will be held next year but added that neither his party nor the junior partner of the coalition Freedom and Reform Party has taken any decision towards that direction.

Mr Soyer added that his government would continue to look for solutions to the problems being faced in the country instead of delaying these after the elections.

My tip to Greek Cypriots. Start learning how to pronounce Ertuğruloğlu. It doesn't quite drop off the lips the way Talat does (did?).

Ertuğruloğlu is gone Tim .

Derviş Eroğlu came back again !

Serdar Denktaş + Eroğlu + Avcı = % 65

CTP + TDP + YKP+ YKP+SP = % 30

others = % 5

IF there is no improve with the solution of the Cyprus problem !

Turkey wants the partitionists back in power, that is clear.

Halil, what percentage of the deputies in the next parliament do you think will have been born in Turkey or have been born in Cyprus to mainland Turkish parents? I can't help feeling that this will be more significant than the actual composition of the neo-Denktahian coalition that will be put together.

Just how many political Parties are there in the north.??

I know YKP is written twice, but really, is it really necessary to have so many.?

No wonder the government jobs are over inflated.!

With this many Political Parties, on average, parties can't have more than few thousand True TC voters in each one (excluding settlers). It may be time to consolidate them all into 3 Parties. It will be cheaper on the long run and less painful if solution is found, because not all the present Political Parties will survive, financially anyway.!
