I think Bro's happy that he's found someone else to share a fag with him and his pilot friend from Cyprus-Turkish Airlines...

Text warnings were there for some time. There will also be some graphical images soon. There was a apage on one of the EU sites, which showed all the images, but I can't seem to find it again. Anyway, some pictures are pretty scary. In a sense that I don't want to look at them ever again. Photographs showed different body parts like lungs, mouth, throat, etc in their worst conditions. Other pictures had people on operation tables. This sort of stuff...

I tried to find the pictures, but failed. A few of them appear in the articles here, here, and here.

From what I've heard, they decided to go with the images. There will be a strong anti-smoking campaign throughout the EU starting July. Now you can kill me, but I don't think I saved that link either...

Normally it would indeed take some time for new stuff to come to Cyprus. But this year is different. Cyprus' own Minister of Health is directing the anti-smoking campaign Europe-wide. I guess he'll be paying slightly more attention to his own country... :)

In fact, the changes are starting to be visible. Many caffes and restaurants that never had a smoking/non-smoking areas now have. There are some anti-smoking ads on TV. Companies that provide "cure" for smokers are making more money than before and also start to be more noticable.

Personally I think Kyprianou's (who is EU Health Commissioner) anti-smoking campaign is worthy of support... but then I'm not a smoker...

I've heard those horrible pictures are to be used for an aggressive anti- smoking campaign by the EU on TV and in cinemas. Wouldn't know that they want to print them on the packages..
