Is it like: "Stay at home when I drink and dirve."? :)

In the UK when they introduced the 3/4 (text) warnings on packets a small industry of ciggie packet covers was created ;)

Do not underestimate the power of denial - as someone living in Cyprus you should know first hand how powerful this can be ;)

I'm not saying that these graphics will be a panacea. But I am pretty sure they'll help. At least those people who are waiting for the last reason to quit smoking, won't have to wait no more. :)

Actually I agree with you. I see no downside in such images (execpt perhaps for the tobaco industry) and there may well be upside - so let's do it I say

I am a pretty heavy smoker btw :)

I used to smoke a lot (two packs of red Marlboro at a calm day). I used to smoke for almost 10 years. I stopped about 4 years ago. Surprisingly, my position on anti-smoking campaigns haven't changed a bit. I was always in favor. :)

Congrats. An inspiration.

Same here. It's a horrible drug imo.

When one drinks, he is the only one affected by it. When one smokes, people around are poisoned. That's especially bad for pregnant women and kids. That's a rather simplistic way of looking at things, but it helps to draw a picture. :)

Also, alcohol is not harmful for health if handled properly. Many doctors suggest that small amounts of alcohol are actually useful to a human body. It helps with some gestational and cardiological problems for one. Smoking on the other hand is a total other story.

Very good point, TVSET, you are completely right here. I agree.

I'm like TVSET. I too was a very heavy smoker, starting at 16 and stopped at 30, smoking in the region of 30-40 ciggies a day. My position hasn't changed, have smoking areas as well as non smoking areas, but don't ban it alltogether in public places.

The pictures to be on fag packets are pretty shocking. I remember when I used to smoke, and the adverts of a cancer patient talking whilst struggling to breathe used to come on the TV, I used to switch channel. In fact, I still do.

As for drinking, I was a heavy drinker at 16/17 when out with friends, going to the off license and buying cans and cans of beer before going to the park and drinking them. Nowadays, I am a non-smoker and a very very light drinker, perhaps a couple of bottles of beer a week.
