That chip off the old block, Serdar Donkey Kong Tash Jr is still trying to scupper the football unity deal:

Denktas continues his campaign against the Cyprus Turkish Football Association - Cyprus Football Association agreement

Turkish Cypriot daily Yeni Duzen newspaper (27.11.13) writes that the scolding has started by self-styled deputy prime minister and minister of sport Serdar Denktas as regards the agreement signed between the Cyprus Turkish Football Association (KTFF) and the Cyprus Football Association (KOP) of the provisional football unification agreement.

According to the paper, Denktas who is against the agreement, called to his "office" the chairman of the Football Clubs Association Yurdaer Garip and the chairman of Football Players Assocuation Salih Isik to whom he expressed his views on the issue. According to the paper, Serdar stated that the agreement cannot be accepted and that it weakens the hands of the Turkish Cypriots.

In addition, Turkish Cypriot daily Havadis newspaper (27.11.13) reports that the chairman of the Cyprus Turkish Football Association Hasan Sertoglu stated that the federation will meet on Friday November 29 to discuss the issue and to give information about the agreement. On Denktas' disagreement over the agreement, Sertoglu said that they expect from politicians to show the same respect to their opinion as the federation does.

Well, I'll have to agree with Donkey Tosh on this one. Associations should only be formed AFTER we have a settlement. Anything more is futile and just asking for trouble.

When the time comes, you will simply not exist. At least not in Cyprus.

Getting them to accept the authority of the CFA as the sole legitimate football authority on the island is a good first step. It shows the TCs understand they will never achieve recognition of their own separate federation. No wonder Denktash is opposed to it. It's a psychological barrier they have had to overcome and a lesson they can take into other areas.

I agree. Just as TC teams will need to accept the reality of abiding by the laws of the CFA and its decisions. It cuts both ways.

Of course, as long as those decisions are fair.

you really think the cfa will make decisions about the our football matters, you really think that. god o bloody mighty. the moment they make any decision about us it is over. if it ever happens you take a single decision to the detriment of tc football and see the result. you boys are real bucn of control freaks.
