Cypriot Football getting closer to agreeing re-unification

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Yes indeed, a lot of people will be watching a lot of other people very, very closely.

The people who need a particular close watch are the "leadership" of "trnc" who will want to maintain their embargo on sports up there.

People like the Unofficial Muhktar Eroglu and the Unofficial Deputy Muhktar Donktosh Jnr. People who we know have been screaming blue murder about the Arrangement in recent weeks.

Both will do all they can to further condemn and derail the Agreement and we will probably be hearing their Reactionary Reaction to the "t"CFA decision very soon.

Now we will see how the TC football teams behave under the rules and authority of the CFA. We will all be watching very closely.

So will you stand up for our rights if the CFA deal with TC teams unfairly as i will if these teams cause problems.

So why are you so silent?

It depends on the issue. If TC teams abide and respect the decisions of the CFA then they should have no problems. There are procedures in place for all teams and they have to respect the decisions of the governing bodies who are in turn bound by FIFA regulations.

The CFA will make decisions in line with FIFA regulations and its statutes for the interests of Cyprus football. Clubs will have to abide by their decisions. That is the way things work.

In the UK, the FA makes decisions which certain clubs don’t like but the final word is always with the authorities. Otherwise what is the point of a governing body?

The CFA will make decisions in line with FIFA regulations and what is best for Cyprus football. Clubs will have to abide by their decisions. That is the way things work.

So if the CFA take a decision which is blatently wrong and effects TC football teams negatively according to you you will not support us because you believe we have to accept this decision because they are the CFA?

Give me strength! If the CFA decided that all TC football teams in Cyprus must wear ballgowns to play football in, then no, I wouldn’t support them.

Well this is how Hurriyet reports on the ratification, including the equal representation on the over-sight committee VP and including an optimistic quote from Sertoglu...

"... the deal was finally accepted by unanimity during a voting session with the participation of members from the 42 active clubs in the north of the island.

“The unanimity shows how the football clubs are approaching the issue. It also shows their confidence to the federation. This is a beginning, but we will walk on the path together,” Sertoğlu said following the vote.

He also added that steps to implement the deal will start in the beginning of 2014. The deal was approved by the Greek Cypriot football federation last week.

According the deal, Turkish clubs will join the Greek Cypriot Federation and the football division will be unified under Greek Cyprus leagues’ roof. The transition will be led by a committee composed of eight members, four from for each side, which will be responsible for implementing the conditions of the deal.

Turkish Cypriot clubs will be able to compete in European tournaments – if qualified – and will also be authorized to organize friendlies with clubs from other countries, which was previously banned due to embargos.

The football union is also seen as a significant step amid initiative for the re-initiating talks for the reunification of the island. ..."

CY football is the winner in this, the losers are Eroglu and Donktosh Jnr... they have to go.
