In August 1996, they planned a motorcycle demonstration on the Green Line, violated the buffer zone and were paid $350 each for this purpose by the church.

That's a direct quote from http://www.btinternet.com/~cy74/HOLS.htm ("Boycott Holidays in South Cyprus"). They fail to mention the full story, and that two of those died, one by sticks whilst trying to escape and one by gunshot whilst trying to take a flag down.

Do not ignore the vandalism of the Greek Cypriot youth and some taxi drivers, who stab, kidnap tourists, attack and rape them

I'm not even going to start with this one.

Today their policy of Hellenization and Genocide continues large scale human rights violations in western thrace will lead to the extermination of Turks living there as they cease to exit, yet no one car, And while the world turns a blind eye no doubt in a few years people will say, were their any Turks in western Thrace .No doubt their answere will be the same .

*Cough* Greeks in Eastern Thrace?

What benefits will they have :?:

I think Cyprus should stay as it is, but with the Turkish (I hate the words Greek-Cypriot and Turkish-Cypriot ) out :!: They have no right, same as the Americans and the Red Indians, but that's another point so i won't go into that, but it looks very unlikely that it'll happen, so I just think an official and complete separation needs to be made. But it doesn't mean that the northern area should be an official country, because whatever the situation, it's Cyprus.

If you mean Turkish Cypriots by Turks, why should they leave? It's their country too.

Imagine, a cow's head has stucked into a barrel. Instead of cutting the head of the cow, I think it is better to think how we could break the barrel. Partition is one option and when thinking realistically, it looks like the best solution. BUT it is an utopic idea, since most of the Greek Cypriots won't be in favour of. There is an irony here, since the solution we think as realistic is actually utopic.
I guess you got what I mean. Besides, you said you are nationalist. Do you hate Turks? Cause I never saw you using bad words for Turks..

its a matter of realism...i want my country free of turks(not turkish cypriots, its their land 2) but i also understand that this cannot happen......so i am in favor of dividing the island.
some gc may not want to join greece at the moment but with time the will see that is better if they do join greece. same goes for turkish cypriots, they may think that being indepented is best, but i am afraid is not......
for me its more than obvious from what i see during my visits on the island that the greek influence(i am talking for the south part) is increasing very fast......greek companies open branches everywhere,we are moving towards unification of education system, most greek companies who have the rights for foreign firms in greece include cyprus 2(eg. ikea, starbacks, carefourre etc)
i dont know how it is in the north part but i do believe that becoming one with greece(gcs) or turkey(tcs) is best.
cyprus is something like a greek mainland colony that depends more and more from financial decisions from athens.......well,wouldnt gcs also like to take part in decision taking like the rest of mainland greeks (by voting ans parliamentary represention)rather than simply accept whatever decision comes out from athens?in a few years the gcs that oppose unification will realize thats its a big mistake, same goes for tcs if they refuse to become one with turkey....and at the end of they day ,why do we refuse our real nationalities?we are greeks and turks!thats it!thats where we both belong(gcs and tcs)....creaing a new kind of term like cypriot nationality and trying to hide our real nationalities is only making things worse

and before i forget...using bad words will not lead us anywhere....of course i can say bad words for turks if i want ,but what will be the benefit?....none....we can achieve what we want without using bad words, all it takes is to be realistic and make some sacrifices like telling annan to take back his stupid plan bc it may survive for a few years but a conflict will be inevitable....i was ,i am and will always be in favour of a strong central goverment, thats the only way a country can survive.....a weak central goverment means that the country simply doesnt exist....
