Nationality

Out of curiosity and interest, if you are a 'Turkish-Cypriot' what does the nationality on your passport say? Cypriot? Turkish? Turkish-Cypriot?

What do you mean by the Queen business?

I was born in England and am therefore a British citizen, although I am classed as an overseas Cypriot by the Cypriot government. I am still half English and half Cypriot (English-Cypriot), and I hope to apply for dual citizenship.

If you are Turkish-Cypriot, what does your passport say you are? Cypriot? Turkish? Turkish-Cypriot?

So you are not Cypriot then? You are not a Cyprus national, you carry a British passport so you are not a Cypriot. Look where your logic brought you. Damn those rules.

Yes I am. I am a British citizen however half English and half Cypriot, which is otherwise known as an English-Cypriot. I'm am also known by the Cypriot government as an overseas Cypriot.

Hi Leon

I am TC. I am also British.

I have my passport here in front of me. Under Nationality it says British Citizen

Both the TRNC and the RoC also consider me a Cypriot national by my parentage.

I gather however from your previous posts you believe that neither the RoC or the TRNC is correct. You believe, if I have got you right, that I am Turkish and not Cypriot because of what happened in 1571? Or maybe British - Turkish?

But Leon, didn't you say that your father's name is not on your birth certificate and therefore there is no documentary evidence of your Cypriot heritage. Unless you've got the paperwork sorted quickly, I doubt the Cypriot government officially recognises you as an overseas Cypriot, that could only come by going through the appropriate channels.
