Postby halil » Mon Apr 06, 2009 1:03 pm

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is very much pleased with Spain’s reiterated support to Turkey’s accession into the European Union.
Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero repeated Spain’s continuous support to Turkey in its way to the EU membership.

Erdogan and Zapatero held a joint press conference after the 1st Turkey-Spain Inter-governmental Summit in Istanbul.
The two prime ministers set the improvement of bilateral relations between the two countries as a primary goal.

At the press conference, Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan said Turkey and Spain have put their signatures under a bilateral agreement envisaging further cooperation.

The Spanish Prime Minister, for his part, pointed to the significant position of Turkey and Spain in maintaining international security, and said terrorism is a common concern for the two countries.
