Over 2000 limesticks and 33 mist nets found last month

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

How do you feel about the Ambelopoulia 'delicacy' in Cyprus?

I think they taste great.

Ex Pat

I am now leaving the house with a giant lime stick to catch some cypriuts. I think i'll try a big fat lazy farmed one ! It's an old british empirical tradition so it must be ok ? Hey one guilty Cypriut vs 2000 innocent, beautiful, singing birds is an easy decision !

Thanks for the tip BC.

Is it also illegal to catch the snails that come out after the rains? I hope so cos' the Mrs caught hundreds of the buggers at the weekend, and I can't stand them!

Okay Richard what role do wild birds play in the indigenous Cypriut eco system ? I know the steak i eat was born to arrive at my table. This is a played out tired discussion i just simply disagree and find it distastefull. Please do not under estimate me as some vegan sympathiser i drink blood and beer like the next man. I come from a society where birds are actively encouraged into a garden or wild areas for people to enjoy and appreciate. Sure if i was starving and lost in the wilderness i might crunch down on one of those bony snacks but not until then ! Give me a monstrous corn fed turkey anytime those canaries just seem so so so um pathetic.

What about guinea pigs, my mother-in-law used to breed them for food purposes. Is that a problem as well?

Oh yeah and i never said what to have for your tea, a real connoisseur like yourself should just stick to endangered species. I suggest pan fried Dodo followed by a pot roasted Giant Panda. As for skewerin' wild cypriuts i believe posing as a gullible home buyer should bring most of the population out of the woodwork ! Tell me are they best pickled live ?
