Well you must be the Last of the Ottomans ... since no one else has heard of it.

Did they steal the drink or just the name? I guess the "mada" morpheme may be from "amygdala".

Oracle, you know me. I have no bias at all. The other link, which unfortunately is in Turkish, is from a Turk who lived in Crete, and possibly visited Levka (in Greece). The drink was unknown in Turkey, but later on she managed to find it in Smyrni. I dont know what planet you hail from Oracle. Together with DT you amaze me. I bet Miltiades knows it, as he IS a real Cypriot.

I know what sunada is you plonker!! I'm just asking if you also call it Airani.

"Airani" is "Ayran" in Turkish and is a drink made from yoghurt, water, salt mixed up and sprinkled with dried mint before served. Totally differnet from "Sumada" which is like a cordial made from almond extracts.

Although it's not that popular anymore even I know what it is for gods sake, every shop in the north ( Cyprus) sells it. If Yfred knows a bit of greek he's gotta be at least 50, but here that could count for a youngin, I would of thought Yasar Halims sells it.

Umit I am a baby compared with some of these dinosaurs on this forum. Unfortunately Yashar Halim may as well be in another country to me. I have never heard of Sumada! Which is unusual in it self as I was under the impression that I heard it all and all that. But I am not proud, if I don't know, I will find out, search, seek and conquer is my motto.

If a tourkomogolo can be a Cypriot, then a Greek cannot, and we are in perfect agreement.
