Apart from the fact that we belong to the same Union and they are a vital ally and partner to Cyprus may I also remind everyone that had the Venetians performed better against the Ottomans then we wouldn't have a Cyprus problem now.

Think of the peace dividend that Greece could reap: if it were not for the existential threat posed by the tourkomogoloi against the Republic of Cyprus, Greece would be able to reduce her ridiculously beefed up military. A not insignificant percentage of Greece's military expenditure is committed to maintaining a deterrent against tourkomogolo aggression against the Republic of Cyprus.
