This is a good question, actually. It is accepted that an organisation known as the 'Sivil Savumna Teşkilati' (Civil Defence Organization) is the arm of the Turkish intelligence service MIT in the north of Cyprus. They even have a website in English:

http://www.sivilsavunmakktc.com/ING/ingilizce.htm

The New Cyprus Party (YKP) cites interference by this organisation as one of the reasons why it refuses to contest, and calls on voters to boycott, elections in the TRNC. I have never come across any documented intsances of such interference. It would be interesting to see if anybody can shed more light on this.
