Turkey was doing pretty well up until the coups. Kenan Evren fucked everything, executed all the leftists, allowed the religious section gain power and changed the laws left and right at will. This was a horrible time for everyone and especially for the communists. The country went down hill form then and on. The bastard is still alive living it up somewhere in southern Turkey and still claims to have done the right thing. But if AKP manages to change the law in order to trial coupist army officials so that they can stop future interventions, this bastard will get trialed as well. He has openly said that if he gets trialed he will kill himself  They are also trying to change the law so that army officials can get trialed in civil courts rather than the army ones. Since they are easily able to effect the civil courts through their sectarian unity...

Do you know any dictador to accept that he made wrong? Our Georgios Papadopouos and Ioannides and their families still consider that they were heros of Greece.

No I guess not. But I would expect the commander of an entire army to act on patriotism or have some pride at least.

But looking at the before and after, the guy has totally ruined the country so it cant be patriotism. And if he cannot accept that he has done a huge mistake then he has no pride or honour either. So what the hell DO these people have?

Totally beats me, that's for sure..
