If You Were Brought Up Abroad...

... would you rather live there or in Cyprus?

I love Cyprus and England, especially since there's so much I'd like to see of it that I haven't seen yet.

I was brought up in Scotland, lived 35 years in Switzerland, first lived in Cyprus in 1952/3 (18 months). I chose to end my days in Cyprus in 1998. The last places I would wish to live would be the UK and the USA. Does that say it all?

I was born and raised in London and moved to Cyprus last August. So far, I am convinced I made the right decision to come over, but who knows, in a few months I might regret it, or may want to try somewhere new like the places SK mentioned. I'm not a young man any more, but I also have no commitments. I may one day just pack my bags and go exploring throughout Europe whilst grabbing odd jobs here and there to finance it all.

I was born in England and have lived here all my 37 years!!! I would love to live in Cyprus and feel that it is something me and my family will do one day!!!!
I would just love to live somewhere that is warm most of the year round and where it doesnt rain all the time!!!!!
My brother in law did a round the world trip about 2 years ago and he really enjoyed himself staying in hostels etc but he doesnt have any commitments so it was easy for him to up and go!!!

And how the world has changed since then Rulla... no longer West Germany, Yugoslavia is in the past, no more ferries between Cyprus and Greece and no more hovercraft between the UK and France...

Still, some things never change... Cyprus is still divided... let's hope in the next 20 years eh.
