Suggestion for holiday

Postby BIGZIPZ » Sun Jul 03, 2005 4:58 pm

Hey guys and girls.

Later this year I will be coming to Cyprus with my girlfriend, I am 21 and she is 18. Which resort would you recommend for us? We both like having a good time but for us staying out all night in a club is not something we enjoy doing on holiday. We are looking for some place close to the beach obviously, has night life more along the lines of pubs, bars and restaurants, has water sports / excursions / sight seeing etc. We cannot decide which part of the island we want to stay at!

thanx

Protaras would be ideal for you. Has one of the most beautiful beaches in Cyprus, is lively and close enough to Ayia Napa for a great night out but far away enough to avoid the people traffic if you wish. Has the watersports there like in all Cyprus resorts, also excursions like in the rest of Cyprus.

Protoras does not have an airport man. You'd have to fly to the main airport at Larnaka and transfer. Don't fly to Paphos, it's right at the other end of the island. There should be loads of flights from Manchester and/or Newcastle, especially during summer when they're both charter territory.

Sorry, you should look for flights to Larnaca, rather than Larnaka, it's spelt differently now but the booking systems still have it as Larnaca.

Here's a map, showing you where Protoras is in relation to the rest of the island.

Hope that helps ZIP

And before someone makes a point about the map saying 'North Cyprus', I'm not making a political statement, it was just the clearest map I could find quickly. No doubt some wise-ass will still have a pop about it though.

ah yeah, nice one! gonna book last minute I think! We dont wanna spend more than £500 each though on the flight and accomodation, hope I can get something like that around September/October. We have friends who went in August last year who said it was unbearably hot!
