Next stop Urbino, were I was on business last year. At the best hotel in town, dinner was 5,5 Euro for appetizer, 8,5 Euro for main course.

One night we went to a restaurant specialising in truffle cuisine (I hate the stuff, but it costs 1200 Euro a kilo). No dish cost more than 25 Euro, after the meal coffee was free.

Urbino is in some ways like pre 1974 Kyrenia. A walled town, dating from the Rennaissance, with a rich past, the birthplace of the painter Raphael and with plenty of treasure for the visitor. Stunning countryside and superb food and wine. It is cheaper to spend two weeks there than a weekend in Nicosia.

Wakey, wakey!

This exactly what i am saying here. And top of all i want to emphasise that we, the G/cs, in all aspects must focus on our behavior, our -wrong things- is the only way to correct them. By complaining about others and considering that we are the Earth center is damaging our country in all aspects.including CB.

Epsilon,

Often when I am travelling to places like Italy and Austria, I think that all Cypriots involved in tourism should be sent for a short tour to these places. It will be elightening for them to see that you get better food and better service on the average train diner in these countries than in a top notch restaurant in Cyprus.

They should also work a shift in a factory to realise the importance of holidays for most northern Europeans and why they should respect these peoples' vacation time.

There is a newly opened cafeteria in the old port area where i asked a double Greek coffee and a botle of water. I had been asked to pay Euro 7.5!!
High deperuture/huminity/not tourist area and Euro 7.5 for a coffee!!!

Same in Athens is costing between Euro 2.5-Euro 4.00 MAXIMUM.-depending on the place you are.

Someone must explain to the people there that, by employing Philippinos/Chinesse and other cheap waiters who are not speaking even the language of the country where they serve, should mean cheaper prices for clients.

7.5 Euro ? damn, was it in a gold cup? And then we are wondering why we don't have tourism in Cyprus.
If I was you I wouldn't pay and ask him to call the police for that.

As about the fact that they employing people from Philippines ,China and other countries, that is not bad but it is bad when those people are NOT speaking Greek. It reminds me when I went to a cafeteria few weeks ago and all the waiters were speaking English and I was insisting to speak Greek. When someone is working in a country he/she has to speak the official language.

Now, as about the € 7.5 for a coffee, that is a clear robbery

It costs 1 euro at the Fanis coffee shop/restaurant right across from the Limassol municipal market.

OK, you asked "what u want to pay" and 1 euro is what I want to pay if I am in the centre of Limassol - because I know I don't have to pay more than that and don't have any problem sitting with ordinary people.
