Well I love Limassol, not just because I'm located here, but I think its the most versatile city here in Cyprus, we've got the sea and mountains close by, plenty of jobs, nice restaurants and clubs - generally a very central place to be on the island.
Definatley prefer it to Nicosia (although all the best jobs are up there, I'd miss the beach too much) or Larnaca (too small) Pafos is quite nice but not too many good jobs going up that end, just tourist orientated.
Can't comment on the northern side of the island as I havn't been.

Are you Cypriot, Liza? If so, where you brought up in Limassol?

Leon.

I say Pedoulas... one because I love the mountains more than the sea and second because I was Christened in one of the churches there... not the big one, nor the one with the huge cross, but one higher up above the town...

I agree with u Moose. Prefer the mountains as well. Dad was born in Agros and I always visit when I'm in Cyprus.

Too many tourists over the years have spoilt the coastal towns.

In da mountains u can chill out in peace and quite. Enjoy the breathtaking views and the hospitality of the locals.

Enjoy the freshly picked fruits or sample the local delicacies.

Relax under a pine tree and breath in real fresh air.

For sightseeing u cant go wrong with the churches and monastaries.

Look on the map where it says Marathasa in large letters, Pedoulas is just below it. I think it's the second highest village on the island after Prodromos, but I'm not certain on that. All I know is that it's very high up, famous for many churches and its cherries. The Priest there, Charalambos is also a lovely man. I'm not big on religion but I could sit and listen to him for hours.

P.S. Does anyone know what the huge building is in Prodromos. It looks like a spooky old hotel, is it the former government house during colonial times?
