British eurosceptic thrown out of EU parliament for Nazi comments

A British member of the European parliament was thrown out of a debate on Wednesday, after quoting Nazi slogans in German in the chamber.

'Ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Fuehrer (One People, One Kingdom, One Fuehrer),' said Godfrey Bloom from the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP), which wants Britain's exit from the EU.

He was speaking in Strasbourg, France, during a debate on plans for greater EU economic coordination, taking place against the backdrop of Ireland's debt crisis and in the presence of the EU's political and executive leaders, Herman Van Rompuy and Jose Manuel Barroso

Police to get major new powers to seize domains

Police could soon have the power to seize any domain associated with criminal activity, under new proposals published today by UK domain registrar Nominet.

At present, Nominet has no clear legal obligation to ensure that .uk domains are not used for criminal activities. That situation may soon change, if proposals from the Serious and Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) are accepted.

SOCA wants Nominet to change its registration terms and conditions, giving the registrar the power to suspend domains if it has "reasonable grounds to believe they are being used to commit a crime".

UK issues DA-Notice as US briefs allies on fresh leak

Governments, organisations and media across the world have been put on alert as whistleblowing site Wikileaks looks set to release millions of diplomantic communications. Emily Butselaar reports

As Wikileaks prepares to expose a huge cache of classified diplomatic communications, the US has warned allies that new revelations may lead to public embarrassment. The cables are expected to expose sensitive foreign policy issues including corruption allegations against foreign governments and leaders, and clandestine US support for terrorism. The leak is expected to contain seven times more data than the infamous Iraq War Diaries released earlier this year.

In what appears to be a harm minimisation strategy the US government has embarked on an impressive briefing campaign, reaching out to allies across the world.

Homeland Security seizes domain names
By Sara Jerome - 11/26/10 04:25 PM ET

The investigative arm of the Homeland Security Department appears to be shutting down websites that facilitate copyright infringement.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has seized dozens of domain names over the past few days, according to TorrentFreak.

ICE appears to be targeting sites that help Internet users download copyrighted music, as well as sites that sell bootleg goods, such as fake designer handbags.

The sites are replaced with a note from the government: "This domain named has been seized by ICE, Homeland Security Investigations."

For instance, borntrade.com, 51607.com, and amoyhy.com have each been seized.

One of the site owners told TorrentFreak that his site was shut down without any notice or warning.

The effort comes as Congress considers the Combatting Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act (COICA). Critics, including Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) say it is too heavy-handed. He has vowed to put a formal hold on the bill.

Who would’ve predicted 20 years ago that the US and Britain would soon embark (commencing with the Bush-Majors evil duo) on such catastrophic foreign policies that would eventually rebound right back at them and destroy everything their forefathers through blood, sweat, and tears, took decades to establish! :?

In Cyprus we have a simple saying so befitting of the two ignorant and short sighted protagonists …

“If you get mixed up with the Chicken feed you’ll get eaten by the chickens!”

It's who gets to decide the "bad" sites that's worrying...

As for the relevance...
