Turkey, and Iran's nuclear ambitions

Postby Jerry » Mon Oct 26, 2009 11:47 am

With the knowledge that Turkey has always been prepared to prostitute itself in order to achieve it's aims, is Turkey supporting Iran in the hope that one day it too will (with Iranian help) acquire nuclear weapons? Does this "cosying up" to Iran and the recent anti Israel moves mean that the West will less be likely to call for a genuine and just solution for Cyprus in order to appease Turkey?

Got it in one. It's Turkey's aim to turn RoC into a nuclear wasteland before turning on Greece, France, Austria etc., then, when only Belgium is left, Turkey will get into the EU. A masterstroke. :D

And then they will have destroyed the very club they wanted to join.   It's a bit like the TCs calling for help from the mainland only to have it destroy them.

As much as I agree with Erdogan’s condemnation of Israel against Palestinians, and of the US against Iran, he may find that what kept the Armenian genocide from being formally recognized was the support of AIPAC (Israeli US lobby)!

And needless to say that Erdogan's recent overall stance is in the interests of the RoC...

All the permanent members of the Security Council have nuclear bombs, Pakistan to the East of Iran has the bomb. Israel to the West has the bomb. It's difficult to disagree with Erdogan when he says that there are dual standards being applied by the West. That he says so just before a visit to Tehran merely shows that he is a politician.
