I personally prefer Carlsberg to Keo, and again, not for any political reasons, but just the taste itself. Also prefer Leon to Keo. Was always a Stella fan back in the UK, bought a bottle of it recently and found it way too gassy.

So if you're a Leon drinker, does that make you an EDEK or DHKO supporter Haz?

Interestingly I've noticed the correlation between KEO and AKEL and Carlsberg and DHSY... very odd... must be down to union membership or something - are most KEO workers members of PEO and Carlsberg SEK? :? :?

Didnt u ever hear the phrase that keo is the people's beer?I think thats because Carlsberg started as an imported beer while KEO was always a local one.

My favourite beer of all times is Hoegaarden.I just tried it a couple of months ago and i cant stop drinking it since then.I also like guiness though.I have no preference in local beers anything is good for me, and its by far better than any american crap beer they have over here

Ahh, it's beginning to fall into place. I assume that initially Carlsberg was a significantly more expensive product to purchase and was therefore the preserve of more wealthy elements of Cypriot society, whereas KEO was the beer for the mass of town and country workers... I never knew that beer can teach you so much about social origins

Strange how football works in the same way...

What beer would DHKO or EDEK supporters drink by the way, or would they mix the two?

Not so much in the same way actually. I found this article the other day but its in greek. Its a nice one if u find a way to translate it but basically it says that omonoia started out of 5 players who found it insulting when APOEL send a telegraph to greece saying how upset APOEL is for the 'rebelion' of the communists at the time (while in reality it was an attempt to exterminate all communists in greece, Grivas was in that too). So this 5 players later on started forming omonoia and as the article states it was also a reason for 4 other teams supported by AKEL to be formed Salamina,ALKI, and Orfeas.

Keo first, Leon second, anything third, comfortably numb fourth and oblivion fifth. Probably in that order.
