"EVERY FOREIGN WORKER = ONE CYPRIOT OUT OF JOB"

Postby Bananiot » Thu Dec 24, 2009 7:10 pm

"Every foreign worker = one Cypriot out of job". This is the title of the demonstration that was called by ELAM (Greek Popular Front) for December 27 to condemn the "peaceful invasion of foreign workers that threatens the national and financial position of the Greeks of Cyprus".

All all political parties, to their benefit, condemned this racist bunch of morons and exposed the nature of ELAM as an extreme right wing organisation. Only EUROKO had nothing to say, but this is the extreme right wing party of Cyprus and the members of ELAM are probably members of EVROKO too.

I am not making a point. If I wanted to make a point I wouldn't be waiting for you or anyone else to ask. I simply gave an information to the members of the forum. If you would like to make a point, please go ahead.

Thank you for informing us that Cypriots care as much about their economy as every other EU country ...

In most cases yes, but this is the same in UK and I'm sure many other places too... what goes around comes around and if we wish to be in the EU, then we must accept the ups with the downs..

I am an Englishman working in place of a Cypriot, and there is a Cypriot working in place of an Englishman!!!!!

However, when I first read this it really pi**ed me off... talk about attitude!!!
For example there are not enough Cypriot specialists in order to cover every job out there... that is why a lot of foreigners are here, including myself. If I could find any Cypriot with the skills and experience that can do my job I'll employ them tomorrow!!!! I've been looking for 3 years... and no joy so far... I'd have to get personel from other European countries like Uk, Germany, etc...

DT, please do me a favour and refrain from complaining when I say that these people are fascists.

Oracle and FD, take your dirty hands off the foreign workers. Our civilisation is judged by the way we treat foreign workers and visitors and fascists like yourselves will not be permitted to dent the tenderness by which traditionally the Cypriot society views foreigners.

The United Cyprus Platform of teachers (from both communities) will march from Eleftheria Square, on Monday 27 December at 16:00, against xenophobia and the cultivation of a racist mentality. Racism is not conducive to a modern society and it is our duty to stop fascists in their tracks. As I wrote before, all parties (bar EVROKO) have condemned the march of the fascists and I suspect that the majority of forumers feel like this too (bar the crazy woman and this FD bloke).
