We have no problems with the UN plan…

UN RESOLUTION 353 (1974)

1.Calls upon all States to respect the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Cyprus.

3.Demands an immediate end to foreign military intervention in the Republic of Cyprus that is in contravention of the provisions of paragraph 1 above;

4. Requests the withdrawal without delay from the Republic of Cyprus of foreign military personnel present otherwise than under the authority of international agreements, including those whose withdrawal was requested by the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Archbishop Makarios, in his letter of 2 July 1974;

http://www.un.int/cyprus/scr353.htm

Get with the program. Point the finger at yourselves, lying, cheating, manipulating low lives.

Don't be so hard on the Turks, they can't help being gypsies.

It must be nice to pick and choose which international agreements you would respect...There is one signed in 1959 which established the True Republic of Cyprus which gave a certain community certain rights...Their rights have been trampled under feet since 1964....what do you have to say about that , Tiberius-with-a-keyboard??? :)

Considering they abandoned their government posts, declared the constitution null & void, and went on to create a puppet one with the invader in the illegally occupied territory, I can’t imagine anyone else doing a better job at trampling TC rights (and those of others) than themselves!

Get a Grip on reality,GR! In 63 TCs were being taken out of their beds in hospitals,never to be seen again...The TC members of parliament were too afraid to go to the parliament house which was in the primarily GC sector of Nicosia....Unless you people get some objectivity and backbone,and accept these facts,Cyprus is heading for permanent Partition...But again that is what suits you best,I keep forgetting...Poor Cyprus,my country... :(

Issuing them is one thing but implementing them quite another because the UN Security Council permanent members, like the US and UK are corrupt to the bone!

Turkey issued the order for Turkish Cypriots to abandon the government posts and for the TC masses to withdraw to specific areas (paving the way for the 1974 GC ethnic cleansing), and the TMT was the body used to enforce these orders.

I've got an entire thread somewhere on TMT brutality!

no point in issuing resolutions if they cannot be implemented; OR viewed from another angle the world at large does not wish to intervene and thereby indirectly accepts the fait accompli

Please answer without bringing TMT into the equation...I know very well what TMT was doing at the time,and before and after as well...I dont need you to tell me...

Byron,unfortunately for the GC nationalists and fanatics like GR,the UN knows in detail both sides of the story...They are not blind or in total denial of our recent bloody history...Hope that answers your question...
