Cypriot Nationalism can it exist now?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Cypriot Nationalism can it exist now?

Just curious as to what all your opinions are on the following topic:

Can Cypriot Nationalism exist before a Cyprus solution or reunification?

Cypriot Nationalism does exist amongst many GCs and so few TCs.

Things would improve when the Turkish Army withdraws and then the TCs finally realize that their nation is Cyprus and their compatriots are the GCs and not the settler Turks or Turkey.

It's an uphill battle.

A pity Cyprus nationalism didn't exist amongst the GCs during the 50s,60s and 70s...If it had we wouldn't have the Turkish Army or the settlers in Cyprus now... :!:

A Cypriot National Party would secure a future for the indigenous people of this island in the Eastern Mediterranean which has been their homeland for millennia.

They would use the term indigenous to describe the people whose ancestors were the earliest settlers here after the last great Ice Age and which have been complemented by the historic migrations from mainland Europe, Anatolia and the Levant.

The migrations of the Phoenicians, Myceneans, Achaeans, Macedonians, Venetians, Byzantines, Venetians, Anatolians, Lusignans, Maronites and closely related kindred peoples have, over the past few thousands years, been instrumental in defining the character of their nation.

Pity Cypriot Nationalism doesn't exist amongst most TCs to this day. Everyone moves on, but progress amongst most TCs is stalled, to the point of their near extinction by Turkey! Way to go! :D

Did you deliberately leave out Ottoman Turks in your list of migrations?

oh ok, fine I see it now...

Anyway, tell me what would your response be to those who say "You cannot be a Cypriot nationalist unless there is a reunified Cyprus first? There is no single nation of which to be a nationalist?"

(This is not my view)

I understand, I would probably would say that too but how would you break down an argument like that? For example if they said to you that "the two Cypriot communities cannot even unite in govt," what would you say?
