Amended.
The CH 101 - Makariou is 115 meters tall, 40 meters taller than the Oval in Limassol.
Nicosia still holds the record.... for now.

21 floors done, 13 left to go...
360 Nicosia.
Once completed will be the tallest in Cyprus... for a short while.

Terrible the health and safety standards in other countries. If this happened in Cyprus the contractor would be in jail now...not so in Australia. :(

The image shows a piece of gyprock (yipsosanida) falling to pieces but such cosmetic flimsy material doesn’t form part of a building’s structure.

I think they are overreacting here, if that’s all the “structural” damage they’ve found. :?

Yes our understanding is that the building is structurally sound and they still have residents in the building. If the actual structure cracked and failed, it would have been a disaster already, and yes, people would go down for that and end up in jail. No question about that.

What has happened is that some contractors skimped on material or did something wrong with the gyprocking and the authorities took precautionary steps. As always, they will over-react until they can verify for certain.

The builders are liable to undertake all repairs and are even liable for compensation and paying all the accommodation costs and even meals for the evacuated residents. If they do not, then they will pay the consequences with their licenses.

Also, because of the media attention, building inspectors, council and government will be going through every square inch of that building. No way they will let the people back until they are 100% certain.

Yup, Trilogy, Neo, One and Aura will be the game changers.
Oval and twins although a 'big deal' a couple of years ago, are actually small fry projects in comparison.

Quick update.
Nicosia's 360 has officially surpassed Greece's tallest tower, the aging 1970's 'Athens Tower 1'
And the difference will be 30 meters.
