Buying on Mesogios 11 - Protaras

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

Bloody hell.....May 2007.........

Hope you have a no increase clause in your contract..

Mind you it would be nice to have your 30% in the bank for nearly 2 years....is someone taking the p........s or did you want that delivery date?

I could build an Olympic Village in that time.

We do not have IKEA to the best of my knowledge but I don't mind being corrected.

There are many many shops out here. You really need to plan a trip say 3/4 months before due delivery and drive round...

Larnaca/Nicosia/Agia Napa all have big furniture shops as well as Limassol and Paphos of course. I would think the latter would baulk at delivering to Protoras unless it was a big order.

Happy shopping and yes negotiate.

Hi H

I am told an IKEA is coming to Nicosia - another reason for not visiting the Capital!

Normally, the 30% deposit is regarded as 'buying the land', but I agree a 22 month delivery time seems excessive - I am being polite!

i was more thinking....purchase price say 120000 @ 30% = 36000 @ 5% per annum= 3690 C£ compound interest.

Nice earner if the developer has say 10 units and sells all prior to commence build......

wish we could do that !!!!!

Hi H :D
Hi Lana :D

Thanks to both of you for your comments/recomendations as usual we will take note of your superior local knowledge. It would make live easy if IKEA was to open up out there but iam sure part of the fun is getting around and finding best outlets for different styles and price ranges.

The time scale of the new house build fits in well with our commitments in the UK. Our last house purchase in the UK took 18 months from deposit to moving in for a similar size development (no pools though) and the "show house" had already been built when we bought. Peyia Gardens, near Paphos, has not even been started yet ( or a least it hadn't in June) and we liked the idea of having the pick of the plots!

Thanks Guys

Hi Steve and Dawn

<<<Thanks Guys>>> erm...my name is Lana, maybe not one British people are familiar with, or is this the generic unisex 'Guys' ;-)

'Peyia Gardens', I will try and have a look tomorrow morning to see if any work has started; as I recall it is near the little church on the Ayios Georgious road to Peyia?

I will report back tomorrow!

Hi Howard

I will wear a black cloak and my best pair of sunglasses so as not to be recognised LOL.

That is not a one to one meessage. We are merely ensuring the safety of a member whilst sussing out a development on behalf of a member.

'cos I am sure all members are aware, we should look out for each other at all times.

So on your visit please take care...

Oh yes...I was doing the same the other day for a member and her builder got very stroppy about "whoever was looking round her property"

good job he did not know I took photos for her as well.

perhaps we should start a "rogues gallery"

Hi,

We are also buying a property in Peyia Gardens from Pafilia and would be interested in swapping info. We have only just found this forum so not sure if it is still active.
