Erdogan may sail to Gaza himself!

Postby Get Real! » Sat Jun 05, 2010 10:05 pm

I don’t know what to make of this…

Is it the start of a long feud between two war mongering countries ultimately leading to a war, or the best comedy act since Benny Hill? :?

Turkish PM May Sail to Gaza Himself

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is not only planning to dispatch the Navy on the next flotilla, but that he is considering accompanying them personally.

And what do you make of this... :?

ISRAEL FACES SHOWDOWN

In preparation for a military offensive against Israel, Turkey has deployment troops, F-15 and F-16 fighter jets, Hercules C-130 cargo planes with paratroop units, war ships, frigates and destroyers to its naval bases in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and the international airport of Ercan, which is located south of Nicosia.

The deployment has occurred even though Israel acceded to Turkey’s demands for the release of hundreds of pro-Palestinian activists who were taken into custody after the Israeli commando launched a raid on a Turkish vessel, which was leading a fleet of ships through the Gaza blockade on May 31.

Why did you place Ercan in inverted commas? And another thing. Why do only we support moral values and when a Turk acts for the benefit of the Palestinians we see an ulterior motive behind him?

This is complete rubbish, firstly turkey does not have F-15's in its air force, second their has been no increase in naval activity in the north or any massive deployment of turkish forces to the South east of the country. Given the logistics involved in any such build up it would have immediately been picked up by a number of countries in the region and would have been a big issue. Lastly, the turkish army has good ties with israel, the possiblity of a squirmish is not even on the table. If anything it was announced 2 days ago by the israeli defence minister that turkish israeli army deals will not be severed and the last remaining batches of HERON UAVs will be delivered this summer as planned to turkey.

Because it’s the Turkish pseudo name of Tymbou (my family’s place of origin) with the earliest known recorded mention made by Lusignans at around the 1460s!

I didn't see an ulterior motive with the flotilla... I commended them!

But, I do see an ulterior motive with Erdogan's handling of this debacle, if all I'm reading is true.

Mysteriously, this "insignificant rock" we merely reside upon, has gained a lot of interest as a springboard for Turkey's well know "humanitarian efforts". I see now why you wish to donate Cyprus to Turkey. They can put this "insignificant rock" to much better use than us who want to, wastefully, dwell on it.
