Sorry, its just a nickname, not nearly as exciting as you had imagined.

I am totally and utterly TC.

Ok, I recognised the name. I do my shopping at Shahmaran supermarket in Ponders End which also has an internet cafe next door.

It's the name of a Persian mythological character.

Half woman half snake, also it is what some locals around here call the classic black "whip snake" you often see squished on the roads.

The so called Armenian Genocide is nothing but a fabricated bargaining chip that has only recently emerged in the time of need for some politicians.

Yes people died, lots of Turks died in the hands of the Armenian gangs as well, no one denies it, but it is not a "genocide".

Plus whatever the Ottomans did, they did it in their own time.

Turks fought hard to get rid of the Ottoman curse, so why should they take the blame of some Empire they fought to separate themselves from?

It is a load of bullshit and super disrespectful to the dead, using their death for political stunts.

If anyone can be blamed today for the murders of their old Empire, the fucking Brits should the first on the list, who still love and praise their rotten fucking Empire, and then the French should be hung for what they did in Africa, there is no excuse, followed that can be the Dutch and of course the god dam Yankee petrol mongers have to pay for what they did ALL over the world in the last century, including Vietnam and the 200,000 civilians they nuked in Japan!

Plus when that happens, you will have to be charged for burying 3 villages under ground, are you ready to take the blame for what EOKA did?

THEN we can talk about what the Ottomans did!

What's an indigenous Cypriot doing, acting as an apologist over the Armenian genocide? I don't get it. What a fake you turned out to be.

So he is Cypriot....I'm really confused. What's a nice Cypriot lad like Shahmaran doing working as a voluntary spokesperson (not a very good one) for Turkey. Turkey has enough Turkish Harvard trained lawyers, historians and the best non-Turkish ones that money can buy. They don't need a guy who probably comes from Ponders End, hence the name Shahmaran. I've visited that supermarket many times......

I'm from Lefke, Omar, never lived in Ponders End or whatever.

It is pretty curious though, why would 2 people start all this ad hominem scrutiny about my origins, instead of dealing with the topic at hand, simultaneously?

Because I think you are wasting your time fighting Turkey's battle with the Armenians. You should focus on Cyprus, we have our own problems. To focus on Armenia is a distraction / a false issue that outsiders want us to waste our time bickering over.

I disaggree my friend.

I think most of the political issues around the world usually boil down to the same few things, mostly involving imperialists and nationalists or religion.

Cyprus too has suffered from similar problems, we have been divided, what is more to say?

Armenia played a VERY active role along with the imperialists in order to divide Turkey.

They failed miserably.

So weather you like Turkey or not, does not matter, her fight played an important role in the powers to be to loose their grip on some issues, and it is worth the respect.

Not many people in history have fought Imperial forces and actually won.

Armenia didn't exist as a nation during the Genocide that occurred by these imperialistic Ottomans that you are sitting and defending. I always took you as a leftist Shah I am very surprised you would feel that way. Let me enlighten you on a fact Shah,Armenia as a nation is 90% Eastern Armenians unlike those that the Ottomans murdered. PS Just like you have difficulties accepting this I have even more difficulties accepting the belief that the Greek Cypriots have ever attempted too annihilate the TC community, since every Greek Cypriot I have encountered has been so open and friendly towards AC Latins and,Maronites Did the T C community play an active role against the majority of the islands population?? If so and the killed even one GC AC, LC or MC. then with your answer too the above responses your community should have been destroyed and thrown off the island with the exception of 2%. Or is it different due too the fact that it is your community??

Where did I ever defend the Ottomans?

On the contrary, I always try and make a point about how we fought to get rid of the Ottomans and how I despise nations that still take pride from their Imperial days and keep their monarchy alive as a symbol.

You do have a point up there my friend, I would never questions peoples right to fight for what they think is right, but we are talking about war here. In war you fight and you either win or you lose, no one will grant you victory because you think you deserve it.

People fight for self determination and if it is on the expense of other people, they will fight them too, never the less it is still a fight and deserve no sympathy if you fail.

Everyone has a right to fight for whatever they think is right, when the Armenians posed a threat to the Empire they were fought against, and when the TC's posed a threat against to what was supposed to become a Greek Cyprus, they too faced the consequences. But in all instances someone had to be victorious.

Yet only some people seem to like to roll back the time and only pick out bits of history they find useful for their cause today and claim it to be justice!

Show me a people who have been granted self determination or land, simply because they believe they deserve it?
