US braces for new WikiLeaks release

Postby Gasman » Fri Nov 26, 2010 9:19 am

Whistle-blowing website prepares to release sensitive US diplomatic files that may harm relations with some countries.

A major focus of the documents is Europe, but the diplomatic cables are likely to touch on relations with many important countries in Asia and elsewhere, a source familiar with the WikiLeaks holdings told the Reuters news agency, speaking on condition of anonymity.

One of the particular rumours regards Turkey supporting Al Qaeda in Iraq seems interesting..... Maybe GR will have a newfound admiration for the Turkish fight against the imperialist ,war mongering Americans

Then again...... monkeys may fly outta my butt :D :D :D :D :D

It’s anyone’s guess what’s flown in and/or out of your butt, but please don’t assume I’m interested!

It must surely be of great concern to the US (now that the 'Wikileaks' revelations are available) that 'Pedantry' might become more widespread as people begin to realize just how seriously they have been misled in the past.

Who knows, perhaps the REAL reason for why Saddam Hussein had to be murdered may even be exposed.

Unless folk are gullible enough to believe that the salvation of the Iraqi people was the incentive for the murderous onslaught upon that nation.

Maybe Saddam knew too much about what was really going on. (IMHO)

Cables show Sarkozy does not want Turkey in EU

Thomas Seibert

Last Updated: Dec 3, 2010

ISTANBUL // One evening last year, Nicolas Sarkozy, the French president, was circling over Paris in his plane, when his advisers suddenly told pilots to change course.

They wanted to prevent the president, an outspoken opponent of Turkish membership to the European Union, from laying eyes on the Eiffel Tower. At the time, the tower was lit up in the Turkish national colours in honour of a visit of Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Turkish prime minister.

The incident, reported by diplomats of the US Embassy in Paris in a memo in December last year and published this week by WikiLeaks, offers a glimpse of how adamant Mr Sarkozy's opposition to Turkey's EU bid is.
