Maybe something to your theory but I'd also bet that the expansions of entrants -

Albania
Andorra
Armenia
Azerbaijan
Belarus
Belgium
Bosnia & Herzegovina
Bulgaria
Croatia
Cyprus
Czech Republic
Denmark
Estonia
Finland
France
FYR Macedonia
Germany
Greece
Hungary
Iceland
Ireland
Israel
Latvia
Lithuania
Malta
Moldova
Montenegro
Netherlands
Norway
Poland
Portugal
Romania
Russia
Serbia
Slovakia
Slovenia
Spain
Sweden
Switzerland
Turkey
Ukraine
United Kingdom

when combined with tactical voting by countries who actually want to win this pale imitation of a bad talent show.
Combined with blatant politics in what was supposed to be a exercise in european harmony.

............. WHOAAAAAA

I'm taking this far too seriously ..... Eurovision in just plain old shite :D :D :D :D

i do think there's been a fall in the uk's standing in the world that needs addressing with some humility and charm. and becks and wills simply don't cut the mustard, i'm afraid.

i think the world may be trying to tell them something.

Did we pull out some troops in 2009

I was going to say you couldn't make this up - but TBH it really is so bloody obvious to all but us brits that what we are doing is wrong.

We must be due a revolution but none of us has the guts to protest about anything anymore and so we trundle on in our self glorifying state of denial totally oblivious to what probably 85% of the world thinks of us and our policies regading the rest of the world - after all we're British - we built an Empire and won 2 wars you know - Now lets have that respect

sadly, britain's so paranoid about its 'special relationship' with the usa, it neglected to consider what everyone else thinks of them (us? i'm a brit, too, by birth )... and, according to the latest wikileaks, even the usa thinks the brits' subservience was ridiculous.

Yes its quite a sad indictment of Britain today isn't it - Patsies for the Americans.

I don't feel that this is the thread to sprout on about my , if you like 'embarrassment ' at being a Brit in todays world.

But the sad thing is, to get back on thread, we could have put on a really excellent world cup.
