Cool. I'm really happy that Qatar won this world cup. The middle east deserves a world cup!

2003 26th
2004 16th
2005 22th
2006 19th
2007 22th
2008 23th
2009 5th
2010 25th

i think the world may be trying to tell them something.

Gotta love antipodean directness -
"Seems like when you bid you need no stadiums, shit transport and a lot of money"

Pretty much spot on

Fuck me ...... You really have a blind spot regarding the average Brit ......

FYI - no one gives a shit about eurovision or has done for about 15 years.

We MUCH prefer to waste our time meddling in Cypriot affairs , murdering babies, watching our poor starve to death, subverting free people globally and being despicable , dastardly imperialists :x

nothing to do with "average" brits, or english or whatever u want to call urselves. no one gives a shit about eurovision, sure... but some of us find the voting patterns (of the people of europe phoning in their preferences) fascinating.

uk position eight years prior to the iraq war.

1995, 10
1996, 8
1997, 1
1998, 2
1999, 12
2000, 16
2001, 15
2002, 3

Average position: 8

This compares to an average position for the eight years post iraq war of 20.

i don't think the major difference in fortunes is a coincidence.
