Would a non-Greek get a hostile reception then?

Its not only Greeks in Georges, you get all kinda locals going there.

Like in Omonia, there always seems to be a couple of black people in there whenever I pass.

Nah, the actual oldman Greek Cafes are full of Tavli players. Georges cafe used to be like a normol cafe but now they do a lot of home made traditional food...and its all kinda people.

There's another one a couple block downs called Dom's Cafe which is similar but has been opened longer and kinda got a local name for itself cos its been open for so long and so many people have gone there.

Greek Cypriots...there are some Greeks fromt he mainland in London...but for some reason they tend to be from SW London, where London's shipping industry used to be based.

There are a lot more Greek Cypriots though, mainly because Cyprus was a British colony and so-called 'colonials' were offered jobs in the UK (the ones that were to shit for the British to do).

Most of the GCs in London are post-1974 migrants. GCs fled to the UK because there was an earlier established community along the lines described by Source, hence why there are now about 250,000 GCs in London. It also became a haven for TCs post-1964, which had a small similarly earlier-established community here.

With Cyprus being a member of the Commonwealth, it was easier to migrate here than to the US.
