All this techie bollocks misses the point completely.

For the average non techie, of which I am one the ipad is a wonderful piece of kit.

It has led me to the Macbook pro and all the wonders of dropbox and synchronicity between all my devices.

My wife who is as non-tech as it is possible to be adores her ipad. She said yesterday that she could not imagine being without it.

Surely that is the point. Pick it up, have no understanding of how and why it works but derive great enjoyment from using it.

Just downloaded the SKY news App. Coming over tomorrow, hope it works in Cyprus.

The ipad is a fantastic gadget. Don't let the relics put you off. Get one, you will not regret it.

You could use dropbox with an android based tablet and a windows based laptop. Apple had a head start with the iPad but Android is catching up.

It can, with dropbox and some similar services.
