Daniella...Bush knew exactly what was going on before-hand and expected everything to fall into place. There is nothing major that happens in the USA without the CIA's and the FBI's knowledge. In fact, there's nothing major that happens in the world without the CIA's knowledge - just ask any of the Greek Colonels who were in charge, in Greece, in the 1970's whether the CIA knew what was happening. By its very title it knows what goes on and orchestrates its own putppet show for the benefit of the American regime. The USA government is a terrorist organisation but, because it's an ally, it's a freedom fighter.

Losing the lives of a few American citizens is enough to cause outrage and enough to go to war over.

Paphitis...I would have expected him, as the President of the United States of America, on finding out that his country had been attacked by terrorists, to have cut short his tea party immediately and without a seconds thought, so he could find out exactly what was going on. For all he knew, the whole country could have been under attack. A leader would have been there for his people. He did nothing. Where I worked, we all stopped and watched the TV and we had nothing to do with the country being attacked!

I find it strange how you think that Bush was escaping his responsibilities by flying to Washinngton, New York or wherever.

Air Force 1 is an airborne command centre form which The President can continue operations in the event of war. So, the only way GWB could have escaped his responsibilities that day was by parachute.

It wasn't clear to him immediately that the US was under terrorist attack!

Furthermore, I disagree. The best thing is for the President of United States to remain calm and to continue with his engagement. There are many people who are able to take care of business, aside from ordering commercial airliners to be shot down by the USAF, which he can do through the Secret Service if necessary!

Yes they were - I understand he was allegedly implicated in an earlier series of attacks going back to 1990, many involving attacks on tourists.

And the USAF is better able to protect him from any attack. He would be under fighter escort.
